Parry will probably try to ensure we have 3 points deducted for failing to send supporters

Will take weeks for the players to get back to match fitness and weeks of training too.
It's not like squads have been working together during this lockdown.

If they're going for 56 days, then it's surely only 1 match a week for most of it too.

They'll be hoping lockdown ends within the next month if they don't want to disrupt the schedule too much.

That doesn't matter everyone will be in the same boat, we'll just see a different game to we would have seen if it were in normal circumstances.

It's the same with the Tour de France, we'll just have a much slower race than we're used to but everyone will be on a level playing field.

That includes the play offs which I’m assuming would be one legged neutral ground semi finals so 12 games in 56 days seems doable, this doesn’t seem to be the ‘tournament’ idea that would see games played in one city is it ?

Aye, that's a fair point, but I imagine there will be more injuries than normal.

I know we are in a strange time and I am sure we will never see the likes of it again in our life time, but I will never go to a professional game again if the league is finished behind closed doors.

I do not say this lightly.

The whole thing smacks of not being thought through. Just a couple of instant thoughts....

How will they police it, for instance? There are bound to be supporters who turn up, if only out of loyalty to their team, forgetting we are in lockdown (like Grealish and Walker did). How will medical support be ensured, and indeed why should it be, when the NHS is already overstretched dealing with this virus?

I can’t get behind this decision, nor the fact that the EFL have put it out at this juncture.

I totally agree, yes talk about the return of football, which will give us all a lift but, as I've said from the beginning, postpone the season until safecto start with fans involved then play the remaining games to complete all leagues

I tend to agree its with crowds or no games. (with season cancelled or current positions accepted as final)

Could the play offs be cancelled and go for top 3 after 46 games?. This would take about 3 weeks off the season's length.

Start 2020/21 late and cancel the League Cup and minor cups for 2020/21 and International friendlies, to shorten the season - people's lives are much more important.

VERY provisional plan

Season restart mid to late June

Season finish end July to early August

Start next season Mid September.

This assumes most of lock down finishes sometime in May

Most of China was in lock down for about 6/7 weeks if that can be used a valid model that would take over lock down to us around May 2nd/9th . Although in Wuhan/Hubei province it was more like 10 weeks that would take us to around 26th May, before players could even train together. I would be more tempted to go with a 10 week lock down.

If deaths are still happening (above isolated cases) we can't significantly finish lock down. We also need tests available to check if someone has had it and also many more tests to test if people have got it etc.
