Did I hear right, when the pundits were talking about the sending off, they said Saville had no chance of getting the ball and yet he played a nice ball to set up an attack before being fouled.
what would have happened it they went back up the pitch and Buendia had scored?
I am sure that you are correct but can't rememberplayer ever scoring before being dismissed. There must be some instances where the ref has played advantage in this scenario and player to be sent off has either created a goal or made a goal saving tackle though.Also in the "can't stick Colin Murray" sector of that Venn diagram. Can't listen to the prat on the radio.
On the interesting question of allowing play to continue before sending a player off. My thinking is that the goal described would stand and the ref still dismisses Buendia? Am I right, has this ever happened?
Correct which is why when you do your referee training they tell you not to play advantage if you need to issue a red. The only exception is if a goal is certain to be scored for the team that has been fouled against.Also in the "can't stick Colin Murray" sector of that Venn diagram. Can't listen to the prat on the radio.

100% couldn’t agree more. I wonder if the Murray haters also read The Sun.Will always be a Murray fan after his principled stand as a Liverpool fan against Murdoch. He had a good job on talk sport but as soon as Murdoch bought the station out Murray very publicly said he couldn’t work for an organisation owned by Murdoch and promptly resigned. Went up in my estimations that day.
Err, what do you think?100% couldn’t agree more. I wonder if the Murray haters also read The Sun.
From the EDP;
Close attentions from Boro markers left him a frustrated figure. No arguments with first booking for a hack on Howson. Perhaps deserved the benefit of the doubt for the George Saville challenge, given both players slid in before colliding. Not helped by the histrionics of the visitors. Replays clearly showed Buendia attempting to pull out of the challenge. But a third red card in seven months tells its own story. Big miss this coming week with a two-game ban.
Histrionics: melodramatic behaviour designed to attract attention.
