EFL 25 man squads

So at the start of this season we had a squad of 24 out of a maximum 25 man squad.
The likes of Hackney, Coburn and Rogers all still the U21 category so don’t count towards figures.

You could take out Coulson, and then Lenihan and Smith too if they are out for the season. Add Azaz and possibly Ayling and that brings it to 23. That leaves us with 2 more spaces unless there’s other outgoings. If Matthew Hoppe is registered then that’s one less space too

What about Joe Gibson? Didn't see him on either list. I find it odd that he was given a first team debut quite a while ago, then never made it into another squad (see also Willis and Finch).
 
one space for a over age striker.. Hoppe
then we signed Finn Azaz - no spaces
then we loaned out Hayden Coulson - one space
then we loaned in Luke Ayling - no space
 
So at the moment we can't sign any more and register them without taking people off the 25. Obviously Smith and Lenihan are possible , as they are out for the season - so that could allow 2
And if we do register Hoppe that would be down to only 1 without outgoings

Coulson is already gone.

So there's another spot available with Smith and Lenihan unregistered and replaced by Azaz and Ayling.

You'd presumably remove Bilongo too in the event of another signing.

24 minus Coulson plus Ayling and Azaz is 25?
Take Lenihan and Smith out and that's 2 spaces
At the moment Bilongo is part of the 25 and Hoppe is not

The 25 man squad in the opening post is only 24 players, if you remove Coulson, Smith and Lenihan, then add Azaz and Ayling, there are 23 players.

If you remove Bilongo, there are 22.

I think it's unlikely that Hoppe will be included in the squad, we shipped him out when we still needed a striker in the summer.
 
We are very heavy in midfield with
hackney howson azaz mcgree obrien crooks Barlaser i wouldnt be surprised if one leaves maybe crooks. If all those were fit its a hell of a job for carrick to keep them all happy. I honestly think apart from up front we are stronger than last year central midfield central defence full back goal keeper. We should be far more resilient defensively than last season. We just need to a get a. quality striker in and the playoffs are on

Finch had an operation and was going to be out for a while I think
Jimmy Salmon mentioned Gibson getting injured too, but not sure how Willis is doing
 
Can you just remove players who are contracted to play for the club (I.e. Smith and Lenihan)? If so, then there really isn’t a limit as you could just swap players in and out depending on whose fit and in form.

The list has to be finalised within the transfer window.

Way i see it, is if we play with 2 in centre mid then that's Hackney, Howson and Barlaser rotating the 2 spots.

Azaz - I think he'll play further forward, no10 but option for centre mid if need be.
McGree - As above, more likely to be the left forward
O'Brien - Crocked, will be eased back and play limited role now due to Barlaser's emergence
Crooks - Not good enough, backup, option as last 5min striker to have a big presence up top.

I think its Silvera, Greenwood and Gilbert who will be seeing limited football when everyone is fit.
