Agree totally. And the police crack me up too. 'Crime won't crack itself...'
Personal issues and they couldn't (for a long while) get everyone together as a lot of the cast were busy on a lot of other projects. Shame, but will have to be remembered as a short lived cult classic.Old Tommy died last week. Shame they didnt do another series.
Ken's mam gets right on my t!ts too, which again must be a sign of very good acting
Beautifully written and acted, just a perfect comedy. I'd also highly recommend, by the same writers, the mini-series Sunshine, starring Steve Coogan and the writers, plus Bernard Hill and a few other cast members from Early Doors. Not sure if it's streamed anywhere but it's absolutely brilliant, and will make you laugh and cry.
The eggs chopped up in a cup remedy for Ken's flu is hilarious...
Eddie: "You eat it Ken"
Ken: "Oh do ya? I was gonna rub it on me chest!"
Eddie: "I told you it was an easy mistake to make Joan!"
Binge watch? 3 or 4 episodes? Amateur.I have both series on DVD and often binge watch 3 or 4 in a row.
Just brilliant on every level.
Writing, acting, comedy pathos it has the lot.

Love this programme huge favourite with everyone in our house. Went to see the live show, really good. My favourite line (from the live show)Anyone a fan of this brilliant British sitcom from back in the early 2000s?
Superbly written and features one of my favourite actors too, Boro lad Mark Benton. Love him
TanyaDid anyone else really fancy the bar maid that Ken eventually settled down with? Can't remember her name.
