Early Bird Season Tickets on sale

Walk up prices should be interesting. My early bird - East Upper is £590. Getting two new season cards this year as well - early bird is £660 for them. If as we all hope we are in the Premier League that’s 19 games for £660 circa £35 a game. Given £660 is the early bird imagine normal season card price being something like £690 / £700 which is about £37 a game. Walk up could easily be £45 + to incentivise season card purchases. Is that acceptable to watch premier league football?

I expected a rise and it isn't as much as I thought it was going to be.

Job done as far as I'm concerned

Just asked at the Tesco Petrol station if they would do me an early bird on fuel to go with my early bird season card for next season 🤣🤣 if we go up to the premier league I will save 280 quid for the 4 games less 🤣

RE-INSTATE BORIS AND THIS WILL BE CHANGED
Yep - Boris back, we would quickly be at war with Russia and football will not take place. Can see your thinking though as it will mean season card prices don’t increase😜

2008/09 - £370
2007/08 - £390
2006/07 - £390
2005/06 - £390
2004/05 - £360
2003/04 - £340
2002/03 - £313
Ok.

Few different ways of looking at it then. £90 increase to the cheapest ticket since we finished 7th in the PL. Over 19 years that doesn't sound bad at all.

Sharp increases in 2003-2006 and again now. £83 since Pulis left.

I must apologise I wrongly said Family Zone is not sold out last Friday. I was corrected over the weekend.
I didn't see your original post about that, so no worries - was just posting so that anybody else in my shoes could save themselves a wait in the ticket office phone queue.

Can put in a move request still after renewing my current seats, but then I'm doubtful I'd be seeing any form of refund for moving to cheaper tickets.

Unfortunately some do have to leave Family Zone when one of the kids gets too old.

As a non ST holder, the prices/increase for ST holders isn't that bad tbh.

It's going to be interesting to see what the walk ups will be - cheapest £33 in the North Stand? 😳

I still don’t like new applicants who are prepared to put their money upfront have to pay more than a renewal.
I've mentioned it before but it's still relevant.
Went to my first Boro game in 1962 with my parents. Hooked at the first game and paid match to match in the boys end then the Holgate
I had a season ticket for 30 yrs. For many years I bought another4 for my wife and family (all adults now). Had a really bad year and couldn't really afford to buy them for that year. Got sorted and applied the next season for the 5 which were the same seats they hadn't been sold. Fella on the till in the club shop took my details and said how much. Got a bit of a surprise when I found out I had to pay a total of £350 more as we were now returning season ticket holders. I was a bit angry about it but my family wouldn't have it so I told him to cancel the transaction and we haven't been as a family since and I've only been to the odd game since.
Get just as excited on match day as ever though.

Got to say I’m really disappointed with the increase - and it does seem difficult to understand which is why it would be great if the club was more transparent about finances. Does this cost increase go towards transfers/agents? If so it’s not really going to make a dent. Is it going to give non playing staff a raise - potentially a bit more palatable? Is it going toward stadium upgrades? Etc…

Interesting to se what happens next, whether any of the fans group may decide to undertake further demonstrations.

£550 at the very least for a new season ticket is an absolute disgrace especially when it could be for championship football next season. I doubt another club in the league will be that expensive

I really don't understand the club's logic with these early bird new applicant prices. I say it every year but it's almost as if they don't want new Season ticket holders. Just charge the same as someone renewing! There will be a lot of people considering season tickets who see that and just think no I'll not bother.
That's all true and certainly will backfire if we now have a terrible run of form and don't make the play offs.

But if we keep playing well and go up, they know that most will have renewed and there'll be a big enough handful of newbies to fill the stadium once up.

If we make the play-offs and don't go up, I suppose that's the most statistically likely outcome, not sure.
