Dwight Gayle to Stoke

According to John Percy of the Telegraph, so that’s another off the list, although we kinda knew that a couple weeks ago. Stoke have made some interesting signings this window, they always seem to do so, but never seem to function.

On a permanent I should add.

I reckon he will do well but he will be expensive in fee and wages with no resale value so crack on. The kind of signing we used to make.

Will no doubt score against us

Very good at this level a good few seasons ago, have a feeling both age & injuries will have caught up with him.. though should be fine to score against us early season 😂

Wasn't convinced he'd be a wise transfer, his best days are behind him bar the inevitable brace against us now I've said that.

Not disappointed, I suspect he will score a decent amount maybe 15-18 goals if he can stay fit but he won’t press from the front and he will just linger in the box like a nasty fart.

£8m for Gayle apparently 🥴

Stoke signed flint a while ago now so Gayle is Gona need to earn his wages to offset goals conceded

I’d be happy with a forward who scores 18 a season , wouldnt care what his age was .

they have got a proven goalscorer and we have missed a trick i believe .

(unless he didn’t want to come here )

We haven’t missed a trick because the deal was prohibitively expensive for someone whose barely played for 3 seasons and is getting on.

An 18 goal striker is useless if it means your playing with 10 men when you don’t have the ball and concede aload more because of it.

Only foolish if he doesn’t get them promoted
Let’s hope he doesn’t because that 8M will look like peanuts compared to the rewards.

8mil? Surely not? He's 32 and injury prone.

He's on 50k. So you'd think at the very least half that for 2-3 years.

I'm not remotely fussed.
