Noticed one old boy of about 80 in the east stand upper the other week having a crafty pint, I thought get it down you mate you've put the time in.. Get the terracing back as well.
Grass..Lads bringing pints up to their seats in the East stand after half time - no stewards on the concourse or on the stairs anymore so no challenge - not clever
Aye there's sections of the concourse pained that you're not allowed to stand in with a pint.. embarrassing reallyWhen my kids were small we sat in North East corner. At half time and pre kickoff the stewards wouldn't allow you stand in a certain area of the concourse because you could see the pitch.
They seem to have ditched that idea now in favour drinking in the seats.Aye there's sections of the concourse pained that you're not allowed to stand in with a pint.. embarrassing really
I've never understood that rationale. It's not like we're banning people from drinking all day. They can just drink more before/after or at half time to compensate.Sometimes we are quite idiotic in this country. I don't agree with the drinking ban anyway but we initiate changes in law for (we think) the best of intentions, in this case crowd trouble. Then by the time the legislation is past it has morphed into not being allowed to drink within sight of the pitch which means that if you are sat behind a glass window in a restaurant or private box and you have a drink, you must close the blinds.
It’s often mentioned about drinking in sport and rugby etc comes up but the law actually says.I've never understood that rationale. It's not like we're banning people from drinking all day. They can just drink more before/after or at half time to compensate.
I also think the football fans × alcohol = violence is a lazy stereotype by authorities.
Some can just never get enough.I don’t know why people can’t get their fill before and after the game, why try to continue through it???
Similar to the lads who sit near me who also arrive about 5 minutes after kick off, personally I don't like to miss a minute of the action but to some it's case of the match gets in the way of a good drink. The lads who sit next to go down to the concourse about 3:35 and come back at 4:10
