Down with this sort of stuff!

I would hazard a guess that none, not one of the protesters have seen 5 mins of the film.
Why can't the great and omnipotent one sort this stuff out himself? Why does he need a handful of dancing prats from Bolton, Birmingham or Sheffield to do his work for him??
Get them interviewed on the television and have them state their objections.

I'm sure demand for seeing this film has just gone through the roof.

That's the point the FT writers were making about these protests

The history of Islam is as shady and ambiguous as the history of those cultures from which it borrowed. In addition to this, the Islamic faith makes enormous claims for itself, threatens its adherents with submission or "surrender," and demands of nonbelievers deference and respect in return. There is nothing in its teachings that can even begin to justify such arrogance and presumption. You notice how liberals always say, "If only Islam had a Reformation", but it cannot. Islam claims it cannot. In this respect, it is exceedingly dangerous.

Islam is the most toxic form of religion. To advocate the establishment of a religion-governed state, with the best means of getting there Jihad, holy war, and the idea that Muslims have a special right to feel aggrieved enough to demand such a thing, is an utter nonsense and I think the entire religion of Islam is a total mockery. Rather dangerously, Islam teaches, "Ours is the last and final." There is no possibility of another. This is the final word from God. If you take note, that is a direct invitation to violence and intolerance, one to which they seem quite willing to succumb.

Islam itself is not comparable to Western cultures because the laws of Sharia and ways of living prohibit much of what western cultures practice. The sooner more people question and mock it for how absurd it is, the better.

Bound to make it a must see film now. One it probably doesn't deserve. It's there on Kodi if anyone wants to view it.

To terrify children with the image of hell, to consider women an inferior creation. Is that good for the world? The idea that Islam is a peaceful religion hijacked by extremists is a fantasy. It is totalitarianism. From what you eat, how you sleep, the way you bank, what pieces of your children's genitalia you cut off, it is one of the biggest evils in the world today.

Not being funny, but that's also how Judaism and Christianity is run.
Yep, and it’s why most of the western world has largely threw off the influence of organised religion.
Any organised ( particularly a deity based) Religion is simply an opinion.
Any one , even in the vaguest form hinting at threats to non believers should have the full weight of the law thrown at them.
The guy on the telly last night tried to say they were trying to influence and persuade, not intimidate.
Yeah, get a group of dancing men and shout loudly, very persuasive, we need to be openly ridiculing these nut jobs.
The discourse around “ The Life of Brian” showed some very learned people to be fools, Christianity is largely reluctant to push us around as much as it would like and be made to look fools again.

all religions rely on fear to certain extent, its only 50 or 60 years ago, the catholic church was advocating giving up all children for adoption if the mother was unmarried. Fear brings conformity, religion has been used for centuries as a tool control the masses. Its only in the last century or so people in the west are waking up to the idea, its all a crock of *****.

And you won't find me making excuses for them neither, but this is pertaining to the prophet Muhammad. In the previous century, the Catholic Church and its links to fascism were one of the biggest threats to humanity. All books and teachings refer to murder, slavery, corruption, redemption and sinister depravity. I feel for the employees of Cineworld who had to put up with these horrendous protests, with all kinds of names under the sun being shouted at them. This is a free country, and a tolerant one too, yet we keep on being told that religion, whatever its imperfections, at least instills morality and goodness, in parts. On every side, there is conclusive evidence that the contrary is the case and that faith causes people to be more mean, more selfish, and perhaps above all, more stupid.

There is a utilitarian case for free expression. It recognises that the freedom to speak must also be insisted on for the person who thinks differently, because it is pointless to support only free speech for people who agree with you. It is not only unprincipled to want that, but also self-defeating. For your own sake, you need to know how other people think
