Dover Ferries : Long Delays

Fuel is cheaper in France so best wishes to William.
Since when??
I have just done 3200 miles around France, Switzerland, Italy and can 100% let you know that France was no cheaper than the UK, in fact the cheapest place was Switzerland by no more 10p per litre 😏

Yeah you’re probably right, he was probably lying about getting on the earlier crossing, and buying some red wine cheap and about the fuel being no cheaper in France, I might start calling him Billy. 👍🏻
I assume so. He was either lying or the border checks that should be in place didn't happen. You can't go "straight through" anymore

The changes are undoubtedly due to Brexit - we certainly have different requirements when entering EU countries than before.

Thing is same goes for those travelling on the euro star out of central london. No such problems exist.

The Dover issue sounds like it’s related to the infrastructure and understaffing by the french due to an issue they had the other day. Now it is staffed appropriately it seems like things are running more smoothly.

I wish you wouldn’t type with your woolly gloves on.
Is that the best you’ve got? Surely you’re intelligent enough to understand I meant ignoring.

So for clarity yes. You are either lying on his behalf or accusing border control of negligence. It’s one or the other

Now you’re getting your replies mixed up, 🤣🤣
calm down and take a break man. 😀👍🏻

You're either lying or the customs people are ignore the "take back control" border that brexitists voted for
Nothing to lie for and just telling you how it was. We even got put on an earlier train but none of that fits the narrative you are creating.

Travelling prior to the school holiday’s made life easier with the tunnel terminal quiet, no one queuing and the French border guard was chatty.

I’ve just explained that hat there was next to no one in front of me and nothing to hold us up for. As I said earlier, none of this fits your Brexit narrative so you are saying the French border guards aren’t doing their job.

That’s tickled me 🤣🤣🤣

I'm not actually. Your brother in law, and Norman, were either lying or saying customs control were negligent
Don’t forget my lies too
when I said we had to wait extra time for the French lady to stamp our passports, think it added about 3 seconds to our trip, that was for both passports 🤣🤣

Anecdotally, last week I went through Montenegro - Croatia - Bosnia - Croatia - Bosnia - Montenegro, a cumulative 5 land border crossing and received 3 stamps. The usual scanning of the passport, a flick through the visas and away you go. Must admit it added about 5 seconds to pre Brexit experiences.

I do have residency in a European country but did not show that ID. I am unsure whether that would show up on a passport scan.

What were the fuel prices in those places?

Stop upsetting him I think you and Norman should stop winding him up and admit it took you at least three hours - he won’t be happy until you do!

Ballpark figures were about 13.5-14 Croatian Kuna = £1.50+ a litre.
Bosnia was a bit cheaper. 3.15 Marks which is about £1.35.
Macedonia was about 100 Denur (that old trick of 99.9 was fairly common). That’s probably a bit cheaper again.

Considering the cost of living in these countries, it must be at least on a par with the U.K. and probably more expensive in real terms.

.

No he won’t, I never had mine stamped last year and it as a matter of answering a few questions on when we arrived, a note made in the passport and then stamped. It took no longer than a minute.

We crossed on 6th July and got straight through. You are talking seconds longer to stamp it, wish you a good day and send you on your way.
You may well have problems later. They are using the stamps to check entry and exit to ensure you're not overstaying. My passport has been stamped in and out every time I've been this year.

Sorry mate, maybe I didn’t make myself clear. I was talking about this happening to me last year.

When the guard looked at my passport he asked for my residency permit. I explained I wasn’t a resident and he queried why my passport wasn’t stamped. He asked the date I crossed into France and stamped my passport accordingly.

Edit: The border control stamped it this year on leaving the UK.

No you are saying that. You're either lying by saying you "went straight through" which you can't do anymore. Or you're saying the border guards aren't doing there job. Jesus son, I've explained it three times to you now
