Dover Ferries : Long Delays

We decided to increase the amount of paperwork required to leave the country, these delays are a consequence of that decision.

France are not going to suddenly invest in more infrastructure and personal to deal with the few times a year Britons decided to go on holiday.

The M20 tailbacks, mainly affecting lorries, have occurred before Brexit, bad weather and strikes and various reasons. That was operation Stack. There is now a more or less permanent situation, Operation Brock.
They have altered the road flow arrangements with new bollards, some concrete, it just looks permanent like it’s expected to last for a long time, a very long time.

It is the UK side. One of the ambulances, people I drive to Ukraine with were stuck at Dover for 7 hours as they literally stripped it down and didn't know how to put it back together. So cannot blame the French.

It's solely and directly a consequence of ending the freedom of movement. I suppose folks thought it would only work one way, I guess.

I've no idea what the real reason is, but it could be simply a shortage of staff. The effects of Covid have been felt just as badly on this side of la Manche, and lots of public and private services have been badly hit.
The uk government and port of Dover management really are idiots.

To think the French will man the borders according to the requests or requirements of the law breaking uk is simply ridiculous.
The French want bad publicity around what brexit brings however I’ve just watched the nutcase ultra right wing Natalie elphike Dover mp on sky news just blaming the French and our right wing media (sky news presenter) just letting her off the hook…
Absolute disgrace.

All the uk government is a constant antagonistic and lying ‘group of thugs’ towards the eu generally about everything but mostly the NI protocol and boats coming over from Calais (which before brexit was much better manned and managed by the French - go figure eh !? ) 🤣

Isolationist language and behaviour by our far right government brings what’s known as CONSEQUENCES!

It's blatantly obvious Brexit is the cause of the chaotic scenes at Dover. It shouldn't take someone like Simon Calder to explain why.

When I worked international I traveled through Schiphol all the time. The queues in the summer for non-EU travellers at times were mental. Each and every person needed their details checking and questions asking. EU citizens just breezed through. Britain is now being treated exactly the way the Tories insisted on.
