Don't Look Up - Netflix

It was an 7.5/10 for me. Di Caprio proving again that he is the best actor around right now. He can do any role and always does a great, believable job. J Lawrence great too.

Some of the modern commentary was sharp, some of it too easy.

It's the best film that netflix has done, but that is not saying a lot. It's not a 10/10, because I can't see myself watching it again.

I watched this tonight and really enjoyed it. My heart lifted with joy as I saw Ron Perlman listed in the pre show credits. He always guarantees I'll smile through a film. It looked like all the cast were having a great time. I'm not one to confuse reality with fantasy, but being clean where drink and drugs are concerned I can imagine spending the end of the world with Jennifer Lawrence in a terrible haircut and with a big bag of high quality spliff being very hard to beat.

Really enjoyed it. Strong message clearly portrayed. Agreed it was maybe slightly overlong. Also, is it supposed to be comedy? There are some comedic elements in it but Ive never thought any of McKays work to be comedies?

I've just tied it.... Turned off after 30 mins.

It's maybe just me. I've tried watching the new Matrix and the new Resident evil films in the last week and binned both after less than 45 mins.

Watched it last night and thought it was very good.

It's so on point at times it's literally cringe worthy as you just know that the government and media could actually respond as is outlined in the film. It could almost be a documentary at times.

Scarily accurate, great performances (particularly DiCaprio. Is there nothing he can't do?), excellent direction and just the right length. 8/10 for me.
That is exactly what I was saying to my bro in law today after I insisted he watch it :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

What a shot that was by Mr. McKay and the actors were all superb. For some reason, Mark Rylance really cracked me up in DLU. I thought the casting was superb and they all did a brilliant job.

9/10

I watched it on my flight back to Chicago yesterday and really enjoyed it. I judge a movie by how many times I look at my watch (!!) and this one kept me hooked throughout. Some excellent performances and a scarily believable narrative unfortunately. 8.5 out of 10 for me.

I don't know whether I liked it or not, I found it extremely frustrating that people would just not listen to the scientist, and just live in ignorance.

Was all very relevant though, and kind of how I imagine it must have been having to deal with Trump, or how our own government took too long to listen to science about covid etc.

What I have found interesting online is the amount of people (flat earthers, covidiots etc), who think they're on the side of the scientist trying to get people to "wake/ look up", but really they're not, it's taking the **** out of them and they don't even know it.

People on there saying "Don't look up" just reminded me too much of that Trump interview where he was saying "we only have Covid as we test for it, if we don't test we don't have it", ludicrous.

We've just watched it, I thought it was very good in the main - a few cringey bits, but more than worth a watch.

I heard my colleagues view at work and it sounded very marmite like.
I watched it and enjoyed it.
Di Caprio was very ‘Leonard’ from Big Bang and reminded me very much of his early role in What’s eating Gilbert Grape.
I hope very much you all watched it to the end of the credits as there is an extra bit at the end!
