Don’t dream it’s over..

I think we lost our chance at the playoffs today. Seemed very much like one of those 3 points in the bag, overly smug banana skins.

The playoffs are TIGHT and that loss for me put us out of it. Wilder himself said every week another team gets pushed out of the running.. that was us today. Talk about another two windows to get things right tells it’s own story. The tone of interviews lately has been with a look to another season in the championship.

Isaiah Jones injured - should have looked for a back up in the Ukraine/Russia emergency transfer window imo. The plan for playing without him has not worked.

Deal Fry injured - ‘sighs’ another player we should have been looking to bring in a back up for in the Ukraine/Russia emergency transfer window. Little bits of history repeating..

Martin Payero still not back, I felt as if we were entering into our ascendency. Players coming back from injury, players settling and vastly improving. Seems a bit more like we raked and now the wheels are falling off..

Nottingham Forest are going to sneak into 2nd place aren’t they? If by some miracle we did manage the playoff final, Bournemouth would be a tougher. Forest without Spence are like boro without Jones.. beatable!

I still believe we can do it. Four points from the next two and we'll still be right in the mix. That game in hand could prove crucial as well.

Let's not forget what a massive miss Jones has been.

Hey now! Thread title stealer 😡
Hahahah! No way!!! Amazing!! Genuinely hadn’t seen it!! - I look like a right plum now!

Ah well, you are the winner.. just gonna check the time you posted it! We might have some sort of ET & Elliot thing going on?!?!

I hope you’re OP isn’t better than mine as well.. that would be a tight kick in the teeth after today’s result!

We need to win four games to get in the play offs. I think todays failure makes it now look unlikely. Not expecting anything from Friday. MUST beat Huddersfield, not easy by any measure.

Swansea, don’t fancy us there. So Cardiff/Stoke/Preston have to be won.

Not entirely confident.

But not that bothered. Getting in the play offs is one thing, you have to win them. Last time in the play offs we went out with out a shot on target in 180mins.

Three points dropped today need to be reclaimed at Bournemouth on Friday or I fear your right. To catch the mood of the other similar thread….I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour, but heaven knows I’m miserable now.

For me, the Fulham game was important because it would affect our psychology. If we had beaten them I wouldn't have expected a performance like that today. Pre-Fulham, i thought if we get beat, we would have to dig deep but it looks like we didn't have it in us.

Of course there is still time and points up for grabs but going into the next 2 decisive games is now made even harder

Newy, I prefer this version pal:

Its their "final" farewell live in Sydney. Really moving.
I only found out recently that the drummer, Paul Hester, committed suicide at the age of 46.
Very sad.

They are touring: https://www.crowdedhouse.com/shows

There's been a consistancy problem with this group of players all season .. Wilders Ways have papered over it somewhat .. but there's too many players in that squad with a weak mentality .. Whether it's a fragility when teams go at us (see first half vs Barnsely) .. or a general careless or sloppy approach on the pitch .. too many lazy passes that fall short, lack of concentration when controlling a ball and having bounce off shins, simple through or square balls that we engineer to somehow hit the harder-to-hit defender or that get over/under hit that defies the simplicity of the pass .. On top of that there is a general lack of urgency to our play (whether that's from the players or manager) .. too many opportunities to do something yet too much checking back and playing it backwards ..

We've done great to get to the brink of the playoffs - but we've done so despite ourselves even though it seems we can "get up" for the big games it's games against the lesser ones we get sloppy. There's quality in the sqaud but I just don't think it's ready yet for promotion ..

I’ve wet the bed, shat the bed, cried in the bath, written some self absorbent poetry, went on a short walk for a long stare..

Sheffield United, Blackburn or Boro
Wilder said we’d finish on 74 points

I think we lost our chance at the playoffs today.
I knew we would have this on here at some point over the next 3 games.

I'm not surprised we lost, Crooks is off form / not fit, we're making mistakes at the back, and we aren't putting our chances away.

BUT, I said last week, we will drop out of the play offs, everyone needs to hold their nerve, as we will have the opportunity with our fixtures to get back in.

We play Bournemouth next, then we have a great run in. Even Bournemouth shouldn't scare us after watching them today, they didn't impress.
