Doesn’t look like it’s going to be a sell out on Monday

I don't know if I can watch it, I would be fine if I was at the stadium I would be able to spend the entire match abusing Leeds, but in front of a screen I get butterflies and feel sick at the thought of losing to them and it overrides any joy i might get from the thought of winning against them
I feel exactly the same mate 🤣

It’s not. I live in Leeds. Have done on and off since the early 2000’s. We’re just another game.
I lived in Wakefield areaand worked in Leeds for years and it's true - most are indifferent about about us. Every now and then I would mention that lot's of our fans thought that Middlesbrough was a Yorkshire club but no LUFC fans I knew thought we were.

I think a lot of the rivalry in the 70s came from both Leeds and Boro being incredibly successful and only 60 miles and Big Jack being a big part of both clubs. Anybody that was around back then will know that Leeds was equally as big as any Sunderland or Newcastle game. We used to take huge numbers there and they brought some here but were put off by the disorder (as were other clubs)

The second time Leeds came to AP in our Jack Charlton era the Clive road corner was very sparsely populated by Leeds fans.
In the previous season Boro yobs launched an assault on the away end at the end of the game.

I remember that! Also: Must have been 76 (??) when hundreds of Boro fans infiltrated the Clive Road corner and only revealed themselves when the teams came out - there was hell on and they were all led around the pitch and put into the Holgate. Leeds fans were also seriously attacked in the park/cemetry on Linthorpe Rd. I think this put many of the off ever coming to AP

I'll chuffin shout at the commentary with ya (y)

For us living in Yorkshire in the 1970s and 80s the Leeds game was as big as Sunderland and Newcastle.

MFC always made Leeds a Cat A game for pricing - it was around £31 for a ticket in 2004.

I think that event was a year or two later.
Suicide mission by a couple of hundred Boro v 2 or 3 thousand Leeds.
They weren't even arrested/ejected.
