Do you suffer range anxiety for the battery on your mobile phone?

I pretty much plug in and charge as often as I can. If going away etc i always have a power bank too.

Had it big time hiking across the Spanish Pyrenees Mountains this summer, all the maps for the route were on my phone, so was terrified of the phone dying and getting lost, as some bits of the route you could go a few days without easy access to electricity and a charging point. I would haver had to carry too many maps to rely on hard copies ...
Er, power bank?

What is a mobile phone and why is a battery important? My modern 1976 BT rotary dial phonenever needs charging up 🤷‍♂️
yes but its going to cease to exist in a working fashion within 24months when they depower those telecomm copper wires. Be a nice ornament for you though , a sort of talking point, well .. not actually.. no talking on it anymore

The Ministry of Good Ideas goes into a complete flatspin whenever her phone reaches 90%
Straight back on charge. She carries two power banks in her bag "just in case".

If going anywhere where I know I can't charge it when out and about I've got compact wireless battery packs that can charge the phone to full

For longer trips away have one that can do it 5 times or so as it's easier than using plug adapters, and just charge the battery pack instead.

Can't remember the last time my phone went flat tbh

In all seriousness, why can’t a car roof have solar panel technology? Bit of a beggar if you want a sun roof, but still could it be done as an emergency back up?,
Think this has been looked at many times, the power it would provided is fairly low vs what a car needs to drive, vs the additional cost and electronics needed

I did until we managed to get Steve to buy us a charger for the bus.

Had to listen to Woody for 5+ hours a couple times last season.

That was the last straw.

Some do. It doesn't add enough power though to keep an EV charged.

I don’t know how long it would take to charge an EV to give you say 30 miles of range to get to a charger but the main problem with solar is they only generate significantly in the period April to September and only during the middle of the day. A panel on the roof would not serve as an emergency back up at night or in the winter.

Er, power bank?
yep I had a decent sized power bank but also had to keep a watch and head torch charged. I was also wild camping and on the more remote stretches I could only charge stuff at the occasional mountain refuges if I stopped for a cup of tea or something for an hour or so and even then you could not always get a charging point as there were others in the same situation and there would be no plugs available

It wouldn’t serv as one at all. From what I’ve seen solar panels on EV are similar to regen braking. Don’t appear to charge the car but increase efficiency. It all helps. Surprised more companies don’t do it. I think you can get an ioniq 5 with one and the leaf used to have a solar spoiler option
