Do Newcastle fans want to see Boro and Sunderland in the Premier League?

I thought I'll watch this and see how long it takes before one of them makes one of the usual derogatory comments. First fella interviewed referred to us as "nappy ripping c*nts". A quick reminder why I still hate Newcastle.
Yeah, only a young lad. Probably no idea what he is even referring to.

Absolutely crass comment even for a paedo jibe.

In every crowd there's an idiot (Newcastle fan).

The majority wanted to see both teams promoted and the two old guys said we were better equipped to go up. I would like to see all the North East teams and Leeds playing in the PL, as a fan, these are the games you look forward to and they have more than three points riding on them.

Of course they would.

They're also in a very favourable position in which they'd beat both us and Sunderland, quite comfortably.

There used to be 3000 idiots all chanting the same vile things every time they came to the Riverside.

I see your point though the whole fanbase obviously isn't like that. I actually work up in Newcastle and a lot of them don't mind the Boro.

Which game would you look forward to more Brentford or Newcastle?

On a list of rivalries for Newcastle we wouldn’t be in most of their fans top 20 I’m afraid. They are in a different stratosphere to us now - I’m sure geographically Sunderland would still be of interest to them but I imagine they are ambivalent about the Boro.

I don't think they'll be too bothered either way at the moment. Like it or not, and we all have opinions on how they have got there, they are a million miles ahead of us in terms of quality now.

Newcastle. I can't stand some of the chants about us but it doesn't mean I wouldn't want us to play against them. Although I wouldn't fancy our chances of getting a result these days. Would be very funny if we did though!

IIf anything, in the coming years Newcastle are going to have rivalries with the likes of City, Liverpool and Man Utd.

Even Sunderland will be an annoyance to them, nothing to gain beating them and humiliation should they lose.

If anything, Sunderland v Boro will probably become a bigger game as its likely to be played much more regularly and likely to be competing in whichever league we are both in/

Poll went out years ago and we were joint 2nd with Man Utd. I doubt utd feel the same like 🤣

The season we were both in the championship but they went up as champions while we floundered below the play offs was where there was a real parting of the ways, as up to that point we weren't that far away from them on the footballing side of things, as we both yo-yo'ed between the top two leagues.

For as long as I've been watching football Newcastle have always imploded on the pitch due to bad ownership decisions and poor management decisions, but it looks like being bought by a Middle East Oil state with questionable human rights record and proven crimes against humanity might be to their advantage in the long run. Fair play.

A lot of assumption about where Newcastle are headed, purely based on one season finishing in the top 4. They’ve had money before, and won nowt.

Remember how quickly fans’ expectations rise, especially up there, and how toxic it can be. They turn on boards pretty quickly too if history tells us anything.

I’ve no doubt at all they’ll be a regular top 6 side but that wasn’t enough for most fans in the 90s once they’d been given a taste of what’s above that. United are about to be bought by an entity just as powerful, City already seem unstoppable, I’m not sure I see PL titles in the near future.

It’s not as if we can just totally write off giants like Liverpool or Arsenal yet, and Chelsea/Spurs will continue to spend I’ve no doubt. Who knows what other grotesque ownership regimes are circling big PL clubs.

It will be interesting to see if/how they continue to spend as we await the outcome of the Man City stuff.

A lot of you are getting as carried away as their fans are! 😁😉
