Dieng

Well if Dieng had the same bug as Borges, Burgzorg and Azaz, it’s a little funny how the last two recovered to play today despite coming down with it later, but Dieng not even fit enough for the bench. I’m wondering if its disciplinary given his shenanigans last season following an international break where he allegedly took a little sojourn?

I don’t buy the Spurs rumour, I like Dieng, but Sol has done really well to be fair.

Carrick said that Burzorg and Azaz hadn't even trained, so they weren't 100% fit.

Borges was ill for 3 matches.

It's easier to risk and change an outfield player mid-match if they're struggling than a goalkeeper too.

It's only been a week, and we don't even know if they have the same illnesses, even ignoring that people recover at different rates.

I wondered that too.

Given Brynn's form so far he's a player we could afford to move on eventually, but it's still very early days

In fairness I had whatever has been going around and took me 4 weeks to shift it fully then you've got the time taken to get to the conditioning required for full match fitness after that sort of period.

Could be a good 6 weeks worst case scenario

Didn't Postecoglou basically say they weren't signing another keeper in January though?
What else could he say though, would undermine Fraser Forster who is currently in goal.

Not sure how long Vicario is out but Spurs sub keeper last night wass a 25 year old who's last senior appearance was in 2019 in Norwegian football (according to wiki).

Whilst i wouldnt want Dieng to leave, Dieng to spurs is a deal which you can see why it might happen as it could suit all parties.

If we were to get a decent slug of cash, maybe a spurs player as a sweetner, high earner of the wage bill, with a readymade cheaper alternative already playing, it does make sense.

Howson was very complimentary about Brynn after the game and noted "you have to take your chance whatever the reason" so wonder if that means Brynn is in and Dieng is off

Hemming to return in Jan as back up keeper , with Dieng and Glover out ? Not in Orient squad so a return likely .

We should ask Spurs to include Josh Keeley as part of the deal, the keeper they loaned Orient whose taken Hemming’s place. Current Ireland u21 keeper, he looks a good one for the future and for me worth a punt. Valued at about 200k. Even if we leave him at Orient for the rest of the season.

Man of the match for me yesterday, two great stops first half. Let’s cash in Dieng, Glover’s a more than capable number two.
I gave him my three stars yesterday and thought he looked comfortable throughout. He was tested with some sloppy passing from our defence and came through it with flying colours. His vision is very good and at one time noticed the Millwall press and dropped the ball into the space they left behind them. He is also comfortable coming out to take a high ball from a cross or a corner. He's definitely one for the future but I wouldn't write off Dieng just yet - Unless there is any truth in the rumours of him leaving.

If we were to sell Dieng, we’d have to bring in another decent keeper IMO. Glover is average. Never looks comfortable with the ball at his feet. Always susceptible to a clanger.

There has been a number of "could have done better" goals conceded this season to suggest Dieng is not a top 6 keeper on this season's form. We have to have a top 6 keeper.

Pompey at home (2nd), Norwich away (3rd) Burnley away, Leeds away (1st), Watford away (1st).
