Did anyone understand that bike race?

I enjoyed watching it but I haven't the faintest idea what was going on. Its not a sport I follow in any format, track or road, but when the Olympics are on I'll watch anything and everything and there are several events I'm utterly clueless about. Still enjoy them though!

:) That's what makes it fascinating.

EDIT Walls was not one of the favourites, but his early-season racing on the road with Bora-Hahnsgrohe has given him the necessary stamina - he always had the speed.

Yes during the race, at times I did not even know where our rider was.

It must have been some planning meeting to organise that.

I am not just meaning cycling but I would get rid of all screens during the races.

When I see athletes looking at the screen to see where they are it seems a bit of a benefit. If you don't know where your competitor is neavs you cannot plan.

There is, but I'm not sure how much the riders rely on that - you need 100% concentration on the track with riders all over the place travelling at different speeds. Look at poor Katy Marchant in the Keirin, her Olympic hopes knakered by someone not on the ball.

I thought the omnium was confusing, but I'm now utterly bamboozled by this martial arts thing on now! Lots of grimacing with a bit of shouting. It's 1 person karate??

You mean like the womens road race, where the Dutch girl thought she had won gold only to find out an Austrian had finished 5 mins before her.
