Desperately seeking Forss and Lath

Two games in a row where I’ve thought Greenwood, Silvera, Jones and Rodgers are too similar. They all want to make the same type of run, all prefer little flicks and one two passing and are not ruthless enough in the box.

Forss and Latte Lath cannot come back soon enough. They offer much greater balance between intricate build-up and direct running and shooting.

It is starting to feel like a frustrating season, but one that will hopefully build into much better consistency next season. Let’s hope West Ham don’t sack Moyes and go for Carrick, as I still believe Carrick is capable of being a promotion Manager, once he has the best players available more frequently.

I imagine Forss would have taken the majority of these sitters.

That said we'd play him wide. So probably wouldn't be in the position to score. I still find it 'odd' that Carrick doesn't see him as a central forward.

We now have Jones on the right. So it has to be an option when he's back.

Lath for all his fluffed chances may well have finished a chance or two today. Coburn wasnt the answer today, injury aside.

Silvera playing as a false 9 worked well vs WBA, but somebody made the point that it may have been that we caught WBA by surprise playing the way we did, and in reality that might have been the case.

We did play some good stuff today, and we should have won the game, but ultimately we're not going to score many goals with that front four.

Coburn and McGree have to start at Huddersfield for me, and I'd also be tempted to bring Crooks back in for Rogers, even though I was impressed by his performance vs WBA.

Totally agree. I suspect Carrick has been managing the minutes as best as possible, but following today’s result we need Crooks, Coburn and McGree in from the start.

With regards to Rogers. I said on here after WBA that he is elegant and has loads of ability but it’s all about consistency. I thought he was a bit ineffective today, and that is typical of him at the moment. One good game, followed by one OK game. At 21 he needs to push on.

I'd be quite accepting of Rogers being given a run in the team playing as a 10 to be honest. He's inconsistent but he's our player and he'll only learn and improve if he plays.

I'm less accepting of Greenwood starting games at the minute because he's only on loan, and for me it's not about inconsistency with him, I think his general play is poor.

Unfortunately no quick fix up top. We have 2 CFs and ones out injured and the other is being nursed through games.

I'm presuming Carrick doesn't see Gilbert or Kav as an 'answer'. Hoppe is available from the 1st (I think?). So may get some unexpected game time. Time to shine and all that.

I actually thought Greenwood's biggest quality was his finishing. He just looks a bit rushed and tries to smash everything. Unlike Jones who's the complete opposite as I've never seen a player hit shots with no pace whatsoever. Just put a foot through it 😂

How many 'spare' slots do we have to register players?

If we are hoping for a few new incoming signings, then registering Hoppe to cover three to five games in January while we've got players away and/or injured he might not be worth a slot?
