Derbys debts reveal…..

Mel Morris will say Derby County FC (limited company) have all the debts.
and likewise all these ram idiots claiming Boro are trying to kill our club must divest the football club and the owning Ltd company. Derby will exist, it may just require a phoenix club and demotions to the bottom tier to carry on.

I would have thought the Club is worth £80m to £100m without its creditors and including the stadium (based on Newcastle at £305m).
the value is based on assets and debts.

The club carries 60m debts.

Assets:
- There are no briicks and mortar assets, Morris owns the stadium, the training ground was remortgaged to cover further debts
- Player assets fall into the to the following categories:
-- short term deals and contracts ending in 2022, of little to no value: Roos, Allsop, Stearman, Davies, Cashin, Buchanen, Forsyth, Burn, Ebosele, Morrison, Watson, Hutchinson, Lawrence, Kasim-Richards
-- Players with outstanding transfer payments: Jozwiak, Bielik
-- Assets with value: Bird, Knight, Stretton, Sibley
- Conclusion playing assets have little value, maybe about 15mill max
- Captive paying audience: 25-30k fans. works out about 20mill a season income. But will that hold up in League One or Two, or 7?

The value of the club is purely potential, and any buyer will trade off that potential with the debts. It's a tough calculation. If they somehow survive they will have no playing squad to talk of and no stadium. It seems a long road back regardless if they are bought or not

Did you see the post Rob made a few weeks back? He said that figure was correct. He'd reached out to Gibson after some Derby fan thing had been in touch with him. Gibson phoned him and explained how he got to that figure.
I saw the post, but didn't see anything like £45m mentioned.

I understood it to be loads of bookies odds and sub-odds. If anything it seemed to be refuting that figure.

BM - I did a value say without creditors and with stadium ownership. I know its a bit hypothetical at present but I phrased it like that to look at potential value, if deals can be done by Derby.

Darlington got relegated 4 divisions when they failed to pay their debts.
Why does the same not happen to Derby?!!!

Darlington were treated exactly the same as Derby are being treated. Pay off football creditors 100% and then whatever deal you can come to with the other creditors. Unfortunately Darlington couldn't do it.
My own local team Kings Lynn were in same situation 10 years ago and were kicked out of league. Were reinstated about 5 leagues down in United Counties Eastern League when they were reformed the next season.
Presumably if DCFC cannot come to an agreement and do stop playing at end of February then they will not be reinstated to Division 1 next season if they are reconstituted afterwards.

That will be the real test of whether DCFC are being treated differently by EFL; at the moment they are not despite that fact that its upsetting some people.
