Imagine how powerful it would have come across if every country had done it? No logos or badges. Just plain coloured shirts.

Then again nothing would have been better than countries actually refusing to take part. I'm not talking one or two. I'm talking every nation when it was announced saying 'we won't attend'. They would have had to change venues. Also realistically couldn't have punished everyone.
 
Said it before. One of the players should withdraw in protest. It's not like any of the England players need the money.
They'd be held up as a hero by many for the rest of their lives.

Agree its a brave step.

When I was reading the article it appeared to be saying Hummel wanted to make the stance so I’m not sure how involved Denmark actually were.

Personally I would have supported teams pulling out. In the end they should have left Qatar with empty stadia and nothing else.
 
I cant recall a World Cup I was less interested in.

I guess I just find football a mild annoyance these days rather than something which plays a huge part in my life.

They only got it because they were better at being corrupt than others who were bidding.
We sent Beckham to countries to get the votes by bribing them with a friendly with England on home turf.

Qatar, unsurprisingly, were able to offer bigger bribes.
 
Whilst the gesture is great, the cynic in me can't help but feel it's marketing gimmick to shift units, if they're giving profits from the shirts to Amnesty that would make it seem more wholesome and coming from a pure heart.

I think it's up to the FA to take action and I suggest we wear black armbands, have a minutes silence before every game and fly our flag at half mast throughout Qatar during the tournament, mourn the death of the soul of football.
 
Maybe they should hold a minutes silence for every migrant who died building the stadiums for this farce of an event.

We might actually have a world cup in the summer if they did that.
