Dear Boro...pleeease f&&& off....

We need to beat Swansea then hull to start being realistic. Fortunately after that there’s only Ipswich and Leeds to follow that we also need to beat .

It Would be typical to head into the playoffs and have the best form and best record against most the sides in there .
Wouldn’t shock me if certain players wrote off for the season could make it for playoffs 🫣

All football fans do it, the Saints fans I was sat with in a Spoons on Friday were convinced they could still win the remainder of their games to clinch an automatic spot, guess what😉. Our playoff hopes are like an overdramatic theatrical death, we know they're going to die but it just keeps getting drawn out, and even old hands like me who should know better can't help but look at the fixtures and permutations and fantasise. I can tell you now even if the miracle was to happen of us making the playoffs, it would not be in a direct straight forward manner it will be in a completely chaotic way, with lots of hissy fits , toys thrown out of the pram, arguments on here etc, it's the Boro way.

If (IF!) Boro win all (ALL!) of their remaining matches, we will have what is still only a slim chance of getting 6th place; and even then it would depend on other results going our way, and a significant change in the goal difference of some of the clubs that are also challenging for 6th place.

A 0.5% chance still sounds about right.

But, either way, try to enjoy the journey!!

It’s better than the threat of relegation, or even worse, having nothing at all to play for!

It’s not good though is it?

Two weeks ago I was enjoying a comfortable mediocre end to the season actually enjoying watching the matches and not caring too much other than pride and all that.

And now…Swansea City at home is a big big match again, particularly if Ipswich beat Norwich (which I expect they will).

Thanks for that Boro, thanks for that.

Exactly my point Holgate...its just not acceptable to keep the season theoretically alive...😊
