De Bruyne

It’s getting to the point now where City can probably even afford a loss at West Ham on Sunday given the goal difference.

Which would have the added bonus of dropping Man United down below West Ham and out of the Europa League spot.

He's not bad is he. I reckon we could talk Pep into loaning him out and Wilder would make him a complete player...

What a difference a week makes for City fans. They ar having a ball. They should have had 7 tonight.

When they play like that they are on a different level to all the other teams in the PL, Liverpool included.

Absolutely sublime going forward and a pleasure to watch.

Oh and Haaland is coming lol
It’s mad that City are this good, score that many goals, and don’t have a striker.

Think little Phil Foden has spent the most time at number 9 this season for them, Gabriel Jesus is more of a Firmino type and hasn’t really played. They literally don’t have any other strikers on the books and haven’t since Aguero wound down halfway through last season.

I know Pep quite likes that system but it shows the genius of his management and makes a bit of a mockery of the argument that he only succeeds because he has the best players. It’s true, but he’s also the best manager.

Take all the goalscorers / number 9s out of every top team and you’ll quickly see who the best managers are, imagine Madrid without Benzema or Liverpool without Salah & Mane. I mean, we’ve been playing without strikers all season so we know what it’s like 😂

Haaland will be an absolute superstar. Him and Mbappe will be swapping Ballon D’ors for the next 10 years and I actually think Haaland edges it at the moment, he’s unique. They’ll have to adapt for each other and will be different for City, having a number 9 who is lightning quick and so strong and good in the air - totally different to the way they play around the box - but it’s exciting to see a proper superstar coming to England. What a team.

I said on the other thread KDB is my favourite non-Boro player ever to have played in England. The lad has it all and is superb to watch. If anyone has young lads playing in the TJFA just tell them to watch De Bruyne play. Left foot, right foot, can pass short, long, cross with whip, is a leader and is not shy of the physical side of the game. Incredible player.

And to think he was a Chelsea reject. They only gave hI’m 3 games and loaned him out before getting rid.

I really don’t think adding to their strike force is necessary. It wasn’t lack of goals that got them knocked out of Europe it was conceding six goals over two legs. They are already the highest scorers in the top European leagues

It’s defending they need to strengthen
But they have the best defence in the premier league in the goals conceded column

I don't think the goal difference is as decisive as it might look. If City do lose to West Ham, let's say by a single goal, their GD will be 6 better than Liverpool. Given Southampton's propensity to lose big a couple of times a season, the fact that they're on the beach and are in poor form, it would not be a surprise to see Liverpool win by 4 or 5. Then it becomes a shoot on on the final day!

It's not impossible at this stage for the title to be shared. For example, West Ham 2-1 Man City, Southampton 0-5 Liverpool, Man City 2-0 Aston Villa, Liverpool 3-0 Wolves would give them identical records.

Of course it's far from certain that West Ham will beat them on Sunday, but without Dias, Stones, Walker and potentially Laporte, they could be vulnerable to a rested West Ham side looking to finish above Man Utd.

"When they play like that" . Liverpool won't allow them most of the time to play like that, City are good but they might not be the best team in the UK, in the Premiership probably but Liverpool are likely to take 3 other trophies beating City on the way to achieve one of them and will be very close to City at the end in the premiership, maybe Liverpool were too successful in other competitions and being better than city all round was too much when added to the grind of the premiership. However City still have one last hurdle, West Ham, the Olympic stadium is not the Boelyn Ground and a destroyer of big teams trying to achieve one last result , but it's getting there and maybe the match against City will give it that reputation.

Chelsea used to horde young boys like Fagin in Oliver. It's no wonder so many diamonds decided to try their luck elsewhere when they were basically at Chelsea just to stop other clubs having them.

It's interesting, as said above, that we've tried playing without strikers as well and also that one of our midfielders is our top scorer.
Add in our keepers loving to give the opposition chances and it's a stunning similarity between City and Boro.
I guess today was the wrong day to give up huffing glue 😁
