Darwin Nunez v City

He’s 23 and not long since moved to a foreign country in which he doesn’t speak the language. Yet he’s still got 9 goals in 19 appearances, 5 in 10 in the league. So he’s a one in two man, who gets into the right positions time after time, who has an impressive goal scoring record in Portugal and Spain - and in Europe - with plenty of scope for improvement.

What are people judging him against? Haaland? His fee? Mane and Salah, two of the best African players of their generation?

I think he’s going to be an absolute superstar. Raw as anything at the moment but against every team and in ever game he causes so many problems and always ends up with chances. He will get better in terms of finishing and then just watch.

I can't help but think he's going to be a brilliant signing for Liverpool.

I'd much prefer my striker getting these opportunities and squandering them, than not being in the right place at the right time.

Look at Haaland against Liverpool in the Community Shield...people soon forgot about that performance.

It was more of a Joke thread but anyway, he's being judged by his price tag and his finishing, which right now is awful at best.

Yes he's scored some goals but he's had the chances created to do so and is often running around like a headless chicken.

Obviously he has talent and may turn into a top goalscorer in the future, but that doesn't absolve him of criticism in missing chance after chance now in big games that Liverpool are losing or dropping points.

Personally, I find him entertaining to watch.

I judge him by the high standards my Liverpool supporting mates set for him after the charity shield, all to a man proclaiming he will be better and more prolific than Haaland. Long may he continue being a big standard 1 goal every 2 games striker to ensure they keep quiet

£75m that shirt cost. Hopefully he will grow into it. I can't see a Haaland in there though.

Never tire of watching city when they play like that.

Never tire of watching Liverpool get beat either. For me its a Christian thing to do.
