Darragh Lenihan

Looks like the CB we were told he was all along. A real leader. I don't think you find many like him these days.

I never really doubted him. You could see by the Blackburn fans reaction when he left. Just needed to get out of that daft formation. He is developing a really good partnership with Fry (always better when he has a talker next to him).

He can also play a bit. I have no doubt he will be skipper soon. He probably already is in everything but the arm band. He seems to lead the group huddles and pep talks. That's nothing against Howson. Just different types.

I was going to call him a no nonsense CB. Yet it's probably harsh. He can definitely play a bit.

Was definitely unsure of him earlier in the season but has been excellent since the change to 4 at the back and forming a great understanding with Fry. Would be interested to see if we get a similar step up from Clarke if & when he has to come into the team as cover.

It was difficult to know how to feel about him signing at the time, as I had a feeling Wilder wouldn't play both him and Fry in a back 3.

If Wilder had signed him at the time with the intention of playing him alongside Fry in a back 4 I'd have been over the moon. It's great that we're now seeing it.

The formation wasn't his problem, he was just trying too hard to impress new manager and fans. Was going too far up field chasing balls that he had no right to go for. He's settled down now, got back to basics and is better for it

I felt the reason why he was going too far up field chasing balls was because it seemed towards the end under Wilder players didn't seem to know who was supposed to be picking up who. We were so poorly organised when out of possession. Players weren't tracking their man.

I noticed Lennighan doing it from the very first game, he played well for 88 mins for each of the first games, but got caught out being too aggressive chasing the strikers into midfield. West Brom at home is a great example the goal was his fault. But, the rest of the game he was great. MAking better decisions now, great signing, and a free too

Wow, touch and pass between the lines for the winner last night was class. He’s been excellent alongside Fry and a real leader. What a signing.

He will be captain next year imo.
Yeah both have improved their game, now they're both playing in a normal back four system, and not as overlapping center halves.

Both players looked like fish out of water playing Wilders system.

Earlier in the season he was basically playing as a sole centre back while the rest of the team went gallivanting. He was never going to look good doing that.

Fry didn't for a long time, when it was McNair, Fry, Dijksteel it was pretty good for a good while. Any time Fry gets moved to the left of a back 3 then it all goes horribly wrong.

Don't think Fry would have lasted under Wilder, Fry is and always will be a RCB who wins headers and tackles that's his bread and butter. That's what he's best at.
