Cummings - Well done Emily Maitlis - this deserves a thread to itself.....

She should get herself to a proper news programme..Channel 4 news, instead of the sh itshow BBC has turned into ...its a disgrace
 
Shame we couldn’t see a bit of balance and impartiality from the BBC in the run up to the election. They really are weak as ****.
 
Her replacement tonight Katie Razzall says it's not the case Maitlis has been asked to take the night off so facts are a bit murky. She was just doing her job I admit but I remember Maitlis rolling her eyes when interviewing Labour's Barry Gardiner during last year's Brexit debate when that wasn't part of her job and did merit some disciplinary action but none was forthcoming

if Razzell is speaking the truth then Maitlis hasn’t been replaced by the BBC - so the assumption is that she must have asked to not do tonight’s show If indeed she was scheduled to do it. Whether that is in protest at the apology or it’s another twitter storm jumping to conclusions I don’t know.
 
The BBC is so terrified of Boris and his threats to the Corporation they wet themselves if they think they have incurred his wrath. Cummings goons would have been straight onto the BBC last night demanding a response and Hey Presto - a shot across the boughs. Stopped watching BBC News when Klunsberg became a Boris cheerleader during the election. Maitlis is too principled for them.

I didn't say she had been replaced by the BBC, I said she has been replaced. Why? We don't know.

I know we don’t know. The whole issue is rampant speculation. Personally I suspect the Beeb have been leant in by their paymasters and capitulated. If I was the editor of Newsnight I would put some film flam reminder up that the BBC should adhere to balanced reporting at all times whilst privately giving Maitlis a damn good pat on the back.

Really does put you off politics as a whole. Keir starmer, the man who went down the human rights route, he has to be the man we follow how surely?
