CryptoCurrency

I’m not sure about the copier side of eToro, but if you’re not planning on using them then I’d steer clear of eToro as you will be paying for the functionality.

eToro are expensive and appear to syphon off money at every stage of your trade. Poor spreads, currency conversion charges*, exchange rate charges, withdrawal charges etc.

And, I read that 75% of users are in the red there, so choose your copier wisely :)

*you have to use USD within eToro; it’s their only currency
Ahhh good to know thank you!

Interest by region, number one - Nigeria, says everything you need to know.
Tells you absolutely nothing you need to know. What you need to know would take a significant amount of research. Take the time to do it yourself and I guarantee your opinion will change and you'll be investing yourself.

They may be chasing a dream, but it is China that has been investing in massive mining farms.

Personally, I think it’s a gamble rather than being an investment. I’d not base any long-term financial plan on Bitcoin, but that doesn’t mean to say that there isn’t money to be made on it, even if you started today.

I have and it’s not for me, same as for example Sirius minerals never was and I said that on here. Fair play to anyone who wants to gamble, but over the years I’ve created, sometimes through painful experience, my own set of investment rules and these look after me well.

Although one of my rules is to occasionally invest outside of my rules (if that makes sense) yet these are reliably the ones where I get burnt.

As for anyone sitting on serious profit from crypto my instinct would be to take a chunk of profit now.

Having conducted tour research what do you think about tether?

Tether’s price matches USD, and so it just a method to buy crypto or to hold in a wallet when crypto is too volatile for you.

It’s currently under investigation as the company behind it has effectively created a license to print money, and when the money is spent on Bitcoin it has been known to inflate the price. Will see what comes of the court case.. maybe a blow for crypto.

Do you believe it’s backed 1 for 1?
How much of the trading volume do you reckon is tether?
what impact do you think it’s having on the price of coins?

I don’t know 😀 I could Google but I’d be bluffing with my opinion! I don’t think it is fully backed 1 for 1 with $ currency is it? Some of the backing is in BTC etc.

It is not and is in fact a gigantic fraud that is responsible for the majority of trading volume!
Allegedly

The crypto currency markets feel like the Californian gold rush in 1849 to me, a few will make good money, but many will not. There are still so many unknowns and its still impossible to value a specific crypto currency. There are also a lot of shady characters in the market.

I see Elon Musk has just invested £1 billion in Bitcoin and says he will accept them for purchases of Tesla. Maybe it is now starting to become accepted main stream? It is up 20% this week!

This might be the tipping point for institutional investment to come pouring in.

Microstrategy CEO, Michael Saylor; held an online event last week explaining how his company had converted their entire treasury reserve to Bitcoin, attended by nearly 7000 organisations.

Now these companies see a firm the size of Tesla investing the FOMO will be real. With Bitcoins programmed scarcity the price could absolutely rocket in the coming weeks.

That's good to know. Microstrategy are a sizable company. I invested last month but might just see if I can put some more to one side.

Is anyone getting massive bubble vibes not just in crypto but stick market too?

Anything I've got money in has gone up up up regardless of anything.

The biggest bubble out there atm is Tesla. The cult of Elon Musk and his use of social media have done this, but there is no way Tesla are a multi billion dollar company
