CryptoCurrency

After the Sirius Minerals catastrophe which I had a few hundred invested in. I cut my losses and pumped it into Great Western mining company. I bought at 0.13p - Today it's at 0.27p and on the up. Covered my sirius losses but happy to hold on to this!

Yes there some crazy numbers atm. Personally don't know much about ARB.L but anything that mines BC atm will rocket. I just stick to BC, Ethereum and Litecoin. Don't trust much else and I can't be arsed to research them all
I’m trying to get wthereum so far I’ve tried to sign up with Kraken and coin wise both seem very flaky , crashing errors and so on. Just awaiting to be verified.
How much should I pay for the cold wallet or could you reccomend a specific one?

Basically they mine bitcoins using the most advanced computers. Find about 100 per month with costs of 40 per cent so the rest is just profit!

Digital currencies like Bit Coin that use Block Chain for formation, take a long time to process a transaction say make a payment upto 100 times slower that say using a VISA payment.

Bit coin is untraceable - I don't think this is a positive overall, unless you are a fraudster criminal type. If Bitcoin takes off I can see the authorities clamping down on it like they have on high value currency notes.

Isn't there a limit on the number of bitcoins that can be produced and we are close to that limit?

21 million supply, 18.5 million mined to date so a few left. Chances are there will be a change to increase the supply - lets see what happens.

But what's that a potential market of 133bilion?

A bit of advice required: I bought a small amount of Bitcoin (0.1) back in 2017 on a platform called BlockChain.com and am now having trouble with them delaying allowing me to sell it. At the time I bought I was told they were a decent company but I hear many people are having issues with them now. I sent them a support request 2 days ago on how to sell it so I can move it into Kraken as recommended on this board but have still not yet had a response apart from an acknowledgement that they received it straight after I logged it. Help please!

Thats all part of the fun I think. Banks are bad. They’re subject to regulation and allow you to instantly move money for free.
High transaction fees, waiting times, during which your asset might half or double in value , and having to hand your money to unknown entities like blockchain.com is the future. Apparently
I am such a hater

Does anybody have an eToro account - I’ve just opened one so taht I can buy shares on the Nasdaq. There are a lot of copier profiles where you follow and match the trades of other investors, there is software to help you do that. What benefit does it bring to them? Is it a con? Anyone any ideas?

I don't think you actually own the crypto through eToro

I think that if you copy someone elses trades like that then they get a %age of any profits (not sure about the losses, but I'm sure I could make an educated guess...)

I’m not sure about the copier side of eToro, but if you’re not planning on using them then I’d steer clear of eToro as you will be paying for the functionality.

eToro are expensive and appear to syphon off money at every stage of your trade. Poor spreads, currency conversion charges*, exchange rate charges, withdrawal charges etc.

And, I read that 75% of users are in the red there, so choose your copier wisely :)

*you have to use USD within eToro; it’s their only currency

You don’t as default but you can transfer crypto to an eToro wallet. They probably charge you to do it haha

It’s one-way and so you can’t then withdraw in dollars. You’d have to transfer the crypto to another wallet to release fiat currency.

Sounds to me that eToro are making big profits from peoples naivety around crypto.
