Creativity Needed

We haven’t really upgraded, just replaced, nothing to say we are staking our claim, we are relying on lads like Jones and Spence coming good, relying on Johnny and Paddy being consistent, not much strength in depth, be another long season but at least we are back to watch it all in person…👍

What’s wrong with Coburn? Really struggling to see the reason you keep mentioning Coburn. We only have 1 other striker who is currently our no 1 until we sign one in Ikpeazu as Akpom is clearly out of the picture so it was always going to be Coburn
 
There is nothing in this squad to get you going which is why everyone is going all in on payero as the unknown quantity.

we need to sort out the three in midfield this has been an issue since the promotion season, not enough quality and ability on the ball in pressure situations. Someone in the centre to boss the game please, this is not morsy, McNair or howson

Maybe someone with pace for him to play in. I have no idea if Coburn runs beyond or payero can pass. Bet he doesnt either.

Well he Had Jones and Spence who are quick. There was nothing with Payero playing tonight, just because we didn’t win and Payero maybe didn’t have the impact some fans were hoping for doesn’t change that. I would start him on the bench Saturday and slowly bring him Upto the pace. Hopefully proves to be a good signing and a top player for us

I just meant zorro making assursions about Coburn and payeros quality which we dont know about. But ones Argentina so hell get time and the other well....

Any strikers we sign are going to be playing 20 yards away from the nearest red shirt if we don’t have a midfield who can carry the ball and play in the centre circle, our midfield usually are indistinguishable from the centre backs when we don’t have the ball

No not at all payero has just been in Japan representing his country at the Olympic for one so there is that.

I like coburn but you and I know he’s not a first team player and prob will be loaned out if we get the new signings. So why would you give your big star signing ( said to be 5 mil) his debut among players that struggle to even get off the bench.

payero was bought to play as a key player in the side his shirt no says it all.

so that just made No sense tonight. None at all.
 
We’ve needed a new Gaston since Gaston left! 😁

We are short in the final third, obviously, but I reckon we’ll be alright with Tav and Payero if Payero has the quality we’re hoping for and can settle into it quickly.

It’s funny, we actually brought in two very creative players in Bolasie and Kebano last Jan and got worse (injuries a factor too).

Clearly need numbers and quality in the goalscoring and creative departments though. One saving grace is that these type of players tend to be available as PL loans, there’s plenty young attacking players who can’t get a game up there.

As it stands Coburn is second striker who did u want to play up front? Payero is un tested and needed a game in this league that wasnt important in the long run.

He isnt someone who's ripped it up and has games, goals or assists under his belt. He starts from scratch here and has something to prove. Playing u23 in the Olympics means nothing in the championship.
 
It may well be that Payero will fare better when playing with our first team. Last night he delivered some dangerous free kicks which weren’t read by the other players. Bit similar to when Juninho first came, quicker football brain which others need to adapt to. Now, to those fans who felt we should have put a stronger team out last night, if we’d done that and picked up an injury to a key player there would have been hell to pay!! We have to accept the squad isn’t big / good enough presently to challenge in cup competitions and focus on the league at the same time, we weren’t going to win the cup and we may not get promoted but attempting to do both currently would be potentially catastrophic.
