Crashing the economy

Well that reply lacks any substance. You could, of course, elaborate and we could debate that. You do have some reasons and evidence for your post, don't you?
Inflation back up, growth down, borrowing levels at a 25 year high, pound down. Let's see what's in the OBR statement in March and judge then.

Finny how the two fact free, completely lacking in substance Tory apologists on here both use the same ā€œlunatics taking over the asylumā€ phrase.

Not funny, thatā€™s the wrong word, tragic.

I think thatā€™s the problem we have in the country: the right have such a lack of cognitive thought. The daily mail or Farage will give them a phrase and theyā€™ll just repeat it ad nauseum without knowing what it means. How do we educate people like that?

100% the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

How can anyone think they havnt ?

Are you saying 2-tier Kier & his team of bandits are doing a good job.

They had 14 years to prepare for this, and seem to be chopping & changing their 'plans' every day
ā€˜2-tierā€™ Musk/Farage label is not about the economy
You arenā€™t paying higher mortgage payments because of Liz Truss, if thatā€™s what you are referring to.
Yes they just shot up at the same time as Truss was PM - but it was all due to Labourā€¦.

As I've said before:

It doesn't matter who is in charge. This country is failing, and the Pound like all fiat currencies are going to zero.

Context man, context. What have the current government done that has increased inflation and caused the pound to drop?

This might be interesting.

Itā€™s why the dismissing of Reform is a mistake - their narrative is repeated so often itā€™s clearly cutting through - as the opinion polls are showing
Flood any debate with the narrative and whataboutery isnā€™t that what Bannon was said in blunter terms?

Looks like we are veering off topic again with so many of the posts.

Liz Truss appears to possess an incredible ability to deceive herself.

Her in effect letter before action correspondence is simply pathetic.

If she had an ounce of decency she would retire from public life. Her incompetence and hubris resulted in many peopleā€™s lives becoming much more difficult in the shortest period of office on record.

History I canā€™t see being revised to shed a more positive light on her catastrophic administration.

Yeah true. The scary thing is they wake amongst us. This is one of the most politically aware websites I frequent and yet look at this thread. Thereā€™s still a bunch of the ignorant right just parroting the three word empty catchphrases. If these people canā€™t learn from the content on here then how do we educate a whole country to be a bit more critical ?

Increased employers national insurance contributions forcing up costs.

Giving inflation busting pay rises to public sector workers that were no doubt justified, but were definitely the wrong place and the wrong time.

Created Uncertainty in an economy that was barely functioning as it was, strangling any hope of growth and investment

Borrowing yet more money to fund ridiculous civil projects focused once again in the South whilst pulling investment where it was needed in the North.

That Budget in October was wrong... it was clear to everyone the damage it would do yet Labour took the gamble. The gamble has failed and the Economy is tanking. best case scenario is we get a mild recession for this half of this year.

worse case scenario is that the markets smell blood like they are currently doing and force the debt gilds interest up, crash the markets and the currency.

If they do this we wont recover for years, Interest rates hit 1980s levels, taxes up to unprecedented levels, mass unemployment, mass repossessions etc, etc

Do you know how daft you sound when you parrot 2-tier Kier? It's a rhetorical question by the way.

I mean the elephant in the room is the generational damage done by the car crash that was Brexit.

That certainly speed things along, but there will come a point in the next decade the Pound will be almost worthless and only the very rich will be able to afford basic essentials.

There will be no NHS. No state pension.
By that time anyone with any wealth will have left the country.
