COVID v Spanish Flu

It is because it is without evidence and requires conspiracy to hide the 'truth' from the public by the ruling officials.
There's no publicly available evidence it came from a bat or a wet market either.

Although I believe China know a lot more than they are letting on. That's a personal opinion which I'm entitled to have.

Most likely mother nature been a woman scorned.

agreed, that's why it's a working hypothesis which is being tested. Scientists consensus is that it's the most likely based on other coronavirus in those species. But no scientist will state that is the origin because it's not yet proven. It has more validity as a hypothesis for numerous reasons not least the number of people that would need to hide a government conspiracy....this is always the biggest limiting factor to conspiracies.

It's not though is it? It was espoused by Trump of all people. A more anti-science person it would be hard to find
I very much disagree. Even if you believe it was highly unlikely to have been developed in a lab, you can’t absolutely rule it out can you?
There’s a lot more evidence and fact finding to be done isn’t there? Aren’t WHO asking China for more cooperation?
I can’t fully rule out it maybe a natural formed virus but I don’t believe it is.

Just because you can’t entirely rule out a conspiracy theory doesn’t all of a sudden make it “science”. All I can say is that it’s highly unlikely. And the bat hypothesis is both much more likely (we have other novel viruses) and much less fanciful

SARS-CoV-2 genome has been mapped so we know bats were involved somewhere along. Also if it was genetically engineered we would see evidence in the genome. Could it have escaped from a lab that was studying bat or other zoonotic viruses collected from the wild? Possibly. A much more plausible explanation is that man has done something to the environment and it has jumped species naturally.

It's impossible to disprove any negative when it doesn't exist.

The science very strongly points to a natural occurrence and one which originated (and is prevalent still) in bats.

This is why conspiracy theorists of any subject are so difficult to shut-down.
