Covid Outbreak

Probably too soon to test positive isn't it? Surely the incubation period is at least more than one day. More likely to have come from howson/ wherever howson got it from

You'd think so, it takes a good few days to display symptoms at the very least, but just thought I'd raise the point.

Why

I think a week off would benefit us as we have played more than enough.

We don’t have to play the martyr and girls weak sides when others aren’t

A week off and a couple of signings ready to go for the cup game might actually benefit us. After my initial disappointment at the news if it’s off it could end up being a blessing in disguise. Let’s hope so. Hopefully we get everyone back fit and healthy raring to go next week. Big shame though cos was looking forward to the game. Sheff United will be fuming haven’t played a game in ages

I'm gutted if true.

Not on Newsnow yet, but It be won't be long before all the other journos see this tweet.

It shouldn't be too much of an impact if other games are called off, but those recovered teams with games in hand may catch up.

I reckon there should be a EPL break if we're out 😉

Atleast we managed to get 3 pts yesterday . Our next game could be the fa cup which will have a few squad players jn so it could be 15th if January for our next league game when we certainly should be fit by then with maybe a few more signings .

I’d be curious if those who have it are also vaccinated
Vaccinated people can have the virus, I have lots of friends, work colleagues and neighbours who have had it despite being vaccinated. I have work colleagues who have tested positive 3 times, had symptoms after being vaccinated and had the booster.

Obligatory picture of Middlesbrough trying to contact the football authorities cos we want a game cancelling due to a virus in the club

Football leagues chief decision maker snowed under with responsibilities and unable to accept any requests from north east clubs to cancel games

That was my point

Also why are we are trying to contact them after 5.00pm do we never learn from our past mistakes. Of course there will be no one in at the time to make a decision, we’ll go ahead and postpone it and woohoo 3 points just and fair all over again,

The game isn’t until saturday. The journalist has only reported it now. Boro could have told the EFL earlier

We'll still have enough players even if it is 8 players. Plus this could make the decision for spence to be recalled. Haven't we played like 3 or 4 kids in the league this season.

And on top of that we’ll probably get an extra point deduction for a frivolous appeal.

Seriously though, I see a number of people are keen for the game to be played whatever team we can muster, but I am more bothered about us playing with our best and fully fit squad. If we have 8 out with covid, why try to play and perhaps throw points away? I appreciate we may anyway with a rearranged game, but for me, it is a no brainer, cancel it, use Mansfield as an opportunity to play new signings and give some youngsters a go and have the squad back for the 15th
