Could Latte Play tonight

Technically, ELL is our player until the deal is done and the MLS transfer window doesn't shut for weeks so, if he's fit and he's in the country then there's no reason he can't keep playing for us until the deal is done. Morris spent about 3 months playing farewell games in the US before he joined us so there's precedent.

Probably not going to happen but it would be funny if he played.

There's no way Glover starts tonight if Travers is fit and eligible to play. Glover has made some saves, it's the bare minimum requirement of him, but he looks nervy and his distribution is awful.

Travers starts tonight. Was playing for Bournemouth recently so straight into our side.
Not sure where we are on injuries and assuming ELL can’t play and the two new lads were not registered yesterday for Sunderland I would go

————————— Travers —————————

——— RVB ——-- Edmundson ———— Fry ——

Djiksteel————————————— Giles ——

—————- Hackney ———- Morris ——————

Doak ——————— Conway ——— Burgzorg—

If Djiksteel, Doak and Conway are out then Ayling, Whittaker and Azaz come in. UTB
I would love it if Conway was fit to start but I doubt it after 6 weeks out.
Bench at best I think.

Travers has to start. Glover surrenders possession far too easily playing out from the back, hes just not good enough to play the way Carrick wants him too. This spreads panic through our already brittle defence.

Add in the fact he rarely catches the ball, and when he punches it, he punches it into the wrong areas, he is a disaster waiting to happen. The fact he hasn't been directly culpable (he has been indirectly) is by sheer good luck than good fortune.

Tell us then, what has he done wrong?
He completely changes the way we have to play because he can’t make a 5 yard pass. He has to go long every time and we don’t have the players to play that way, so essentially just gift their CBs possession every time our keeper touches the ball

And as we saw last season, he generally makes a mistake every 2/3 games which leads to a goal

While I think Travers will start, Glover has done little wrong since he came in, and doesn't justify some of the comments. It would be odd to drop someone because they 'might' make a mistake!

However we signed Travers to play hence he will start, otherwise you wouldn't drop Glover until he made a mistake which would be a poorer message.

Absolutely this. Glover will know that so keeping him #1 until he makes a mistake is just putting him under pressure for no reason. Glover isn't good enough to be a Championship #1 but he's done himself no harm when it comes to getting a move elsewhere. He would fit in well in the MLS.

Or the A-League 😉

I bet some of you are the people whinging about us taking loans over permanent signings or our own players. I love the luminaries on here who know everything and criticise others in such an abrupt way / hypocritical way.

As far as keepers go, Tommy 'no eyebrows' Glover is a very good 3rd choice keeper, better than some of the 1st choices we've had. We've brought Travers in as we have a kid on the bench and if TG got injured we wouldn't want to go with him. TG's done nothing wrong and I'm comfortable with whoever we go with but to say someone knows nothing about football because thats their opinion with some of the **** e that's not called out on here is just nonsense.
