Coronavirus confirmed...

Credit where it's due, after the initial hassle of getting an appointment yesterday we got the results today only 24 hours later. Unfortunately my 8 year old daughter has tested positive which was a huge shock, one of my other daughters was negative as was I.

As a result we were allowed to go to the walk-in centre in Newcastle without an appointment today where my wife and 2 other children have been tested. Hopefully they'll come back negative too and my daughter will be back on her feet in no time.

I'm critical of this government the huge majority of the time but from our own experiences it's worked very well though I understand that many others aren't as fortunate as we are. Anyhow, 14 days isolation coming up... anyone for Bargain Hunt?

How is she feeling? They say kids aren’t generally affected with symptoms. But sounds like she is under the weather with it?

Hope she’s on the mend soon!

Thanks all, thankfully she's not too bad in terms of symptoms. On Sunday she started with an alternating blocked and runny nose along with a slightly sore tummy. On Monday she started getting a slight cough and a little bit of swelling across the bridge of her nose and so we thought she had some sort of normal bug / possibly a little bit of sinusitis. On that note we called the Doctor on Tuesday who agreed he thought it was likely sinusitis but advised us to get a test to be safe.

She's still a little bunged up and has a slight cough but that's about it, hopefully it doesn't get any worse. 5 days on from her first symptoms I'd like to think she's had the worst of it and will now get better.

Am sure she'll be fine but best wishes. Testing process was pretty good when I used it.

Hope your Daughter gets better soon and you and the rest of Family are all ok.

At least the football season starts again to give you some extra entertainment during isolation.

Just been asked to take part in the ONS survey, where I can get tested every month and they want to reward me with a payment of £50 for the first test, and £25 for all subsequent tests, which I understand totals 16 over a year. This also includes an antibody test too.

Being in the most vulnerable group I'm happy to get tested, and I'm puzzled why the government are paying participants, as I believed most people would have done it for nothing.

I hope your daughter makes a speedy recovery 👍😷
