great news, The whole world is ramping up wind power with not enough personnel and resources to meet these climate declarations. It would be great for Teesside if it was to become a major wind centre.

Great news.
If it's good enough for the South Koreans then it's must be good base to develop from.

Are Freeport’s good for the economy?

they pay lower taxes on property and no tariffs on imports that go into future exports… and they pay lower national insurance contributions for any employees…. Who covers the shortfall in the NI?

On the other hand, those workers spend their wages in the area and in the wider community…

I don’t know the answers , was just chatting to someone who feels strongly against them…

yeah, I have had similar thoughts, but dont know enough about the ins and outs.

Surely a number of relatively decent paying jobs in the area is a good thing for the people and the local economy? plus is there a knock on benefit for the local supply chain and service industry?

and if the land was of very little economic use before, are the local council etc really losing out?

My main concern with the freeport, or just the port, is the additional dredging that was/is planned.

Already an ecological disaster off the coast and no one admitting responsibility.

They haven't done any extra dredging yet so I'm not sure how it can already be causing problems?
