Come on, Gibbo, our performances are embarrassing

If you get rid of Warnock I can highly recommend a manager by the name of Grant McCann. I know you don't usually take managers currently in a job but that can be overlooked on this occasion. My car is ready (filled up with fuel too) for me to drive him there, just say the word.

The funny things is, if he was using his old technique, say Uche up top with Crooks playing off him, going direct fast and early, getting good quality balls into the box for the big lads to scrap for I could sort of forgive him for that. Working good set plays, putting teams under a physical and psychological press, being mean, in your face and hard to beat.

But we're nothing like that, we don't seem to do anything well. We don't counter, we don't have pace, we don't press teams well, we don't defend well, we don't create much and our set pieces are usually awful.

If there were improvements in one or two areas while we still struggled in others I could forgive him, and still support him.

But everything that has been wrong since January is still happening pretty much every week.
Good point, you know what you're getting and in my opinion - though not pretty, it is a little more attractive than Pulis's style which is a bit more blatant long ball.

It’s all just very very stale and has that oh-so-familiar feeling of just delaying the inevitable now. We are getting worse week by week, with zero signs of improvement. The players look like they aren’t convinced in the plan and the Warnock effect has long since worn off now they all know him well.
Teams rarely just miraculously turn around from this point and have a good season, unless they have a managerial change. It’s all just too stale and predictable and depressing. The feel good team spirit and togetherness seems long gone.

Still 3/4 + of the season left but we’ll probably persevere like this for another month or two and end up having an absolutely nothing season, flirting with the bottom 3 rather than the top 6.

you will never satisfy the pack.

its in their DNA to to have hissy fits when our team (i doubt its theirs) dont win football matches.

the same people hounded Stevie Mac, and give dogs abuse to Aitor.

i hope the next Boro manager is another 'Lenny' - Neil Lennon ! - they would implode from that appointment with indignation before a ball was kicked - would be funny to watch them doing it on the WWW.
TBF johnny, I I think you predicted sometime ago that fans would turn this season if we are not getting the results especially with the Warnock style of football, we can accept it when we are getting the results but it is dire when we are losing

This post is utter rubbish:
1. There is no "pack". On a board like this there are a massive variety of critics, often arguing opposing views and the same posters who agree with each other on some things and not at all on others.
2. Not everyone has a "hissy fit" when Boro don't win. There would be no board if people didn't express views.
3. There simply aren't a lot of posters on here who are not Boro fans.
4. Many of the posters on this board were young kids in McLarens era and it is ludicrous to say those who are currently criticising are the same as those who criticised McLaren.
5. How on earth do you know whether those who criticised Karanka are also now critical of Warnock?
6. Why anybody would want Boro to appoint Neil Lennon as manager, just to have a laugh at fans reactions is beyond me.

I loved the McLaren era and the Karanka era.
I suffered the Strachan, Monk, pulis and Woodgate stints.
I was sad to see Mowbray's obvious demise and am sad about the current situation, but still hopeful Warnock can turn things around (quickly).
Which "pack" am I in?

I'll hold my hands up, we played like a Warnock team last night.

Agreed, if he can get them playing like that every week, I'll be happy.........I'm not convinced yet though, we've had false dawns before. I want to see this level of defensive work and maybe a smidge more creativity (particularly against the lessor sides), then I'll be happier.

Chalk and cheese. Really uplifting performance just puzzled why we can’t put it in more regularly. Some great passing, running into space, injection of pace- commitment, effort and desire. Better shape about us. Need to tighten up on marking but so many positives we were unrecognisable from the Reading game

There is a constant theme on this board and has been for years, where if you are critical to obvious club or managerial or player failings, you are called a bed wetter.

You just aren't allowed to be critical, peope day you wallow in glee when the club lose and are "gutted" when we win, it's absolutely weird.

like anything in life, be it work, relationships or following a football club, you should actively be critical regardless of success because it's how you get better. What could be done differently, what could be improved, what are strengths, what are weaknesses etc.

seen it time and time again where this circular argument plays out, the "true" fans support the club no matter what and everyone else is a bedwetter, until the season is a write off and the manager leaves or is sacked. Then it begins again with the new manager, until things aren't going right and we have again the camps of criticisers called bedwetters and the people with head in sand no matter how bad things get.

True, we're all fans at the end of the day & show our passion in different ways

I was buzzing after last nights performance, still am this morning, that was the reason I posted as such last night, not to have a dig at anyother poster who showed concern with our poor performances this season, probably more that I was happy for NW

Fans pay there money & are entitled to have an opinion, I suppose that's why we get the term 'fickle', we'll never change

"Fickle" means constantly changing ones opinion. Regardless of last night's result, I'm certainly not fickle. I didn't ever want Warnock as manager, I still don't, and I don't think we'll go anywhere with him as a sort of one season nightwatchman.

I haven't changed my opinion at all, I'm not fickle.

I like the night watchman analogy. Expendable, a moderately safe pair of hands that won't FUBAR the long term goals, steady the ship after a bit of a wobble....but you don't want him around too long in the morning otherwise he'll slow your progress.
