Come on, Gibbo, our performances are embarrassing

And, as such, it really is time to act. Fans will put up with dire performances with one main condition, that the team wins games.

Presently? We look a long way off putting any form of a winning run together. Outdated tactics, playing hoofball is not the answer.

Against a patched up team yesterday we could barely lay a glove on them. Frankly the lacklustre performance was lame and insipid and the application was a long way short of what was required.

A defence that as the game wore on showed flaws in shape and marking. A midfield that was largely anonymous. Forwards that have a makeshift defence one of the easiest games it could wish to have.

It is largely viewed we have a better bunch of players compared to last season- albeit unbalanced.

Yet performances remain hard on the eye and results hard to stomach.

Are you really satisfied with this ineptitude currently shown? I like Warnock - but it appears his main contribution is now as a media performer- certainly this is better than his managerial contributions to gaining points.

Being nearer the bottom of the division than the top is, frankly, utterly demoralising. It is often cited players stop playing for a manager - are we at this stage?

One thing is for sure, the excuses cited after every game are fooling no one. It is our tactics, application and general malaise as a team/ squad.

Sadly, it has reached a point where action is needed.

Having a go at the referee for making a poor decision after 87 minutes is just deflecting from a poor performance. But at least I knew Crooks was playing when he got sent off.
His referee bashing is just embarrassing. He should be using that energy at his players and coaches if they are not carrying out his tactics but I suspect that they are.

“A defence that as the game wore on showed flaws in shape and marking. “

I was out at a wedding yesterday so only saw the first twenty minutes and I thought the defence was shocking fir that so god knows how bad it got as the game wore in as you say.

ive never been so upset with a season - I’m normally the eternal optimist but it just feels like this season is over before it ever really begun! Barring something dramatic it’s gonna be a painful six months from here on in.

It's frustrating. We have a good squad, good players - good footballing players who now are utilised as hoof merchants.
Our football is awful, defence all over the place, midfield non existent and forwards who try hard but getting the ball 30 yards out with b***r all support is never going to bag them goals.
We are continually outplayed and out battled, teams want it more. We show glimpses of looking good, but generally there is a malaise all over the pitch. Players look as though they don't know what they should be doing, passing and movement is abysmal.
Do we just ride the season, nervously looking over our shoulders, Warnock gone in May. Or do we act now and have a go? I don't know. Whatever, I just hope Kieron Scott has a long term plan for where we are going, these 1-2 season managerial appoints with wholesale squad revamps is not working.
☹️☹️

I hope Scott can sprinkle some magic, we do seem cursed! The last decent season was under Karanka when we won promotion.

This is a real worry, decent technical players having that side of the game coached out of them, it needs to stop quickly.

Sadly as we saw under Pulis gibbo tolerance for dire performances is a lot more than most on here inc me.
Pulis finished 6th and 7th and always had us in the promotion chasing pack...Gibson let him depart because of some people's intolerance of his football

Since he left we've been mostly dreadful and nowhere near the promotion pack. We should have stuck with him

you will never satisfy the pack.

its in their DNA to to have hissy fits when our team (i doubt its theirs) dont win football matches.

the same people hounded Stevie Mac, and give dogs abuse to Aitor.

i hope the next Boro manager is another 'Lenny' - Neil Lennon ! - they would implode from that appointment with indignation before a ball was kicked - would be funny to watch them doing it on the WWW.

"I doubt it's theirs".

What that's supposed to mean?
Have you never criticised a Boro manager?
Are you some sort of uber-fan?

Pulis sold Bamford and kept Gestede. Traore got us in the playoffs single handed. We didnt look like we wanted to get promoted that year and the following season February on the wheels came off. It wasnt just the football it was results plus terrible signings like Saville. Nostalgia for Pulis surely has to be an oximoron.

People arent having hissy fits. Thats ridiculous. Warnock needs to go. Pre season was the real concern. We got turned over with ease exactly the same as we are week in week out now

I don't agree with this "we have a good squad, we have good players, the tactics are wrong, hoof all is not for us". This group of players are poor let's not kid ourselves. They would not be capable of playing a slick pass and move style. How many players from our squad would make it into any of the top six teams?
Worrying times.

I might be miles off, but in addition to the points above I thought we looked pretty unfit yesterday. Doesn't help having some very slow players in key positions but their closing down was sharper than ours from the first whistle.

I know Warnock isn't one to overwork the players in training but Reading certainly looked fitter than us yesterday

“ I doubt it’s theirs” - comment made by the ignorant who simply haven’t a counter argument. Questioning if you’re a fan because you dare criticise what is glaringly obvious is little better than school kids argument and defence.
