Collection of old programmes - what would YOU do?

I'm duplicating an old board thread here, so here is the original - if you have any thoughts but prefer to post over here, let me know...

(also, replies here are better for notification purposes :))

As with chucking out anything, once you bite the bullet and get it done, you'll likely never think about them again. Does seem a waste, though, I must admit.

I don't suppose you have Swindon v Boro, 22 November 1997 do you? If you have, and you want to get rid, I'll happily give it a good home. I don't know why I've not asked you this before.

I've only been to Swindon once and my initial feeling is that it was the 1995 game, but will check.

I got rid of a similar collection over the last couple of years, some on eBay for buttons, others for free on here. I haven't missed them. In reality, the only time I ever looked at them was when I was working out how to get rid of them. It's nice to think that someone else might read some of them now.

Most of mine went in the recycling, couldn't give them away. Fella who ran the shop on Parlaiment Rd had them all for sale and no one was bothered. Same with Riverside Roars etc, unless you've an emotional attachment to them just recycle if no takers

Right, I know it's seven months later, but these are going in the bin over the next couple of weeks unless anyone shouts now.

I'm in London so if anyone wants them they would have to wait until next time I'm up north, but as said above if there's no takers I no longer have space for them in anything other than the short term.

I can't remember how many there is, it said in the original fansonline thread which apparently has now gone away completely, but I think it's around 600 or something.

@Slipperutb01 was looking for some for his son a few days ago.

Did I notice someone looking for tickets ? I do have a few. I'm quite happy to stick them in the post

I do have some programmes but they are mainly old and a few of them I wish to keep but the kids will just skip the rest so they might as well go - slightly more difficult

I did mention that I have a few team sheets from kids games if they are of interest including Slavia Prague - again they'll go in the post easily enough

Hi Rishworthian, I'm always on the look out for tickets to add to my collection

Very late to this thread but are they just programmes or are there any early copies of the fanzine in there? I had a massive collection of both, starting from 1991 right through to 2005/06 time, when I moved down to London and left them at my parents. They moved house a few years later and they gave the lot to the bloke who I think ran a small shop selling Boro stuff and comics and whatnot in the Cleveland Centre.

Now I've started to regret giving away the early-90s fanzines, I've been buying them off eBay.

viv. I have loads of fanzines which I advertised on here a few months back with no takers other than Rob who had some gaps to fill. I was about to advertise them for the last time before putting them in the recycling. You are welcome to them, and I can do a list of what I have if you are interested.

That would be excellent! I don't really have a set of numbers or dates I'm working to, just really interested in some of the earliest and probably up until the end of the 1993/94 season. Looking at fanzines and programmes from all over Europe has become something of a hobby over lockdown/furlough times.

First time I worked away my mam gave them away, including the 1966 World Cup Final programme, a full set of Newcastle programmes from their Fairs Cup winning season, no idea how many Boro programmes and countless others.

Saved me lobbing them out I suppose.
