Good that times are changing.Perhaps they went to Teesside Uni and ended up sticking around, I know a handful of people who’ve done that in the last 10 years.
Very good.
Many Teessiders did including me - MSS blossomed as a result especially from the guys who worked in construction boom of the 1980s in the City.Good that times are changing.
I was the opposite. Went to London for a university with a good "Computer Science" course in the late 70s. Had to stay there to work as there was not many IT jobs outside London at that time.
Is Teesside one of the last remaining areas where a non-local accent is unusual? When is the funeral?
They were probably building not far from me. Spent most of my time working a little north of Liverpool Street. Plus a few years in Docklands. Again surrounded by construction work. Many Teessiders did including me - MSS blossomed as a result especially from the guys who worked in construction boom of the 1980s in the City.
I know of two different Londoners who now live on the river in Stockton. They've sold up in the Smoke and bought a houses mortgage free and a couple of rental properties and have bit of coin in the bank. Both work remotely for firms in London.
Apparently quite a few are doing it...
Teesside Poly had one of the best Comp. Sci. degree courses in the country back then. I should know; I have one. Mind you, I still ended up in London for work.Good that times are changing.
