Coburn on loan

@coljka. That’s all pretty fair. We have to probably readjust expectations a little in the next couple of months, but we need to see latte lath getting in the goals and one of Silvera/Rogers/Gilbert really stepping up to help. If we see that and get our selves within 6 points of play offs we can come strong and push second half of season.

I’m hopeful but not expecting play offs this season. I won’t complain if we finish 10th, it’s a rebuild this year and I see that as our median position at the moment. But it could be anything from 4th to 15th to be honest.

What I do want is Carrick to get the time and support to work with what he has and see them get better, more consistent, more dangerous every month
agree i made a post a few weeks ago saying i think this season will be a stepping stone and a season of building.

The reality is after January we had 15mill Akpom 15mill Ramsey and 20mill Archer plus Giles to assist.

We now have players in the 2-4 million bracket playing those positions. Hopefully they will go on to be great buys but we are no where near promotion as it stands

most expect plymouth to be in and around the play offs
Not a chance (in my opinion) and that's coming from someone who watches Argyle on a regular basis.

Argyle are aiming for staying in the Championship for several seasons, no one involved with the club thinks they'll end up that high in the table. Staying in the league is this seasons goal 👍

Coburn still has a lot of weaknesses from what i can see

He has to learn how to play that target man role, and he can only do that by playing game after game

He is not really technically suited to playing in the role Carrick plays at the moment, i don't ever see him evolving into a striker who links play , he just
doesn't have the attributes for it

This is my thinking. Last season has artificially exploded expectations.

As far as Im aware, no one within the club has come close to saying we will compete for top two this season?

If we had only just stayed up last season (which was likely the brief) people would be looking at this season differently. Unless we went down the loan route again it is incredibly difficult to replace the quality which has left this summer.

This is effectively year zero for the Scott/Carrick era and should be judged as such.

Without PP we need an edge. We've obviously decided that edge will be our recruitment. Buying low, improving and selling high. If we stick to it, I'd say minimum 3 seasons to compete, and probably 5 for autos.

Nowhere near autos, I agree. I think we shouldn’t write off our lay offs, the benchmark for play offs is 72 points usually and if we get two more first teamers in and later lath and Rogers click we could certainly threaten that total.
