According to Crooksy in his podcast interview with the lovely Dana ‘finest’ Malt…and. Jonny etc….
I really think next season is a massive season for Josh
I really rate him
He is a natural finisher, clearly quick enough and still developing so I’m expecting big things from him and the same goes for latte lath who offers us something different too.
Just need another forward in for cover but watch Josh go !

Ps; great crooksy podcast btw.

I imagine he's joking 😄
He absolutely wasn't joking - crooksy said that because he is a big tall lad sometimes it looks like he isn't as quick as the smaller chaps which must have something to do with it - I agree.
I think Crooksy said how quick he is to latch onto balls in and around the box as well.

Coburn - steering relatively clear of injuries has a big future ahead of him - i'm convinced.

I think Coburn quite quick on the pitch. Can't judge a player's speed by his height, but there is an assumption smaller players a quicker.

I'd question what Crooks (and fans) mean by fast though. 100m speed isn't that much use on a football pitch. When, if ever, does a player sprint for anywhere close to 100m in a football match? Maybe if a player has to frantically get back into defence after a bad corner, but no other time.

The NFL has been testing the athleticism of new players coming out of college this week. They measure straight line speed over 40 yards, and include a split over the first 10 yards. They consider this a far more important measure in their game than 100m speed, and I think the same is true for football: it's acceleration that's important rather than speed. I recall reading that Ishmael Miller was extremely quick over 100m (possibly a school-level 100m champion but I might be wrong about that), but he didn't show it on a football field as it took him the first 20m to get going.

I'm not.

I remember Arsenal claiming Bellerin was as fast as Boult over 100m even with his boots on. Never take these claims seriously, it's the first few metres that matter in football

Caused all sorts of problems for Chelsea defenders in that first leg....
I'm a massive fan, let's hope he can steer clear of injury next season.
I maintain the opinion that you need a big man up front to get out of this league 👍

Totally agree that you need a big man to get out of this league.
Crooksy didn’t go into minute detail about how they did the sprint to find out who was quickest but you’d imagine it was over 30 or 40 yards
Crooksy just said, jonesy was the quickest and surprisingly Coburn was 2nd 🤷‍♂️

It was probably a bit of fun they were having but as they are all ultra competitive it won’t of been classed as fun when that starting gun went off 👌

He might be over 50m, but probably won't be anywhere near over 5-15m which is most important.

Will keep an eye on this though the next time he's playing.
