Clint Eastwood

It’s such a difficult choice to name his best movie as his career spans so many decades, although each one of his movies also complicates the decision by virtue of his role as an actor and director.

I recently watched Heartbreak Ridge and thought he was incredible, but he was equally as good if not better in Mule and Gran Tourino, so it’s definitely a hard decision due to his incredible talent.

My vote however would go to the Trilogy Spaghetti western Movies where he was totally in control and maybe a raw talent.

The Good, The bad and The Ugly

"You See In This World There's Two Kinds Of People, My Friend - Those With Loaded Guns, And Those Who Dig. You Dig."

Magnum Force. Watched this in the last 6 months. 1973. Not only is his dept boss corrupt, the boss has recruited 4 rookie copsjust joined the dept to act as his own personal hit squad on crims and other cops Not only does H Calahan have to piece this all together he then has to avoid multiple setups on his own life then he has to clear it up one by one - his magnum really helps. Cops on cops - shocking

I remember him as Rowdy Yates in Rawhide.
I do too. They played reruns at some point in the 90s. Remember watching them as a kid.

My favourite is probably one of the Leone films. But high plains drifter certainly deserves a mention.

I've always felt that we should paint the Riverside red like in high plains drifter. Like all of it. The car park, the outside of the stands, the grass.

Saw Heartbreak Ridge when it first came out. Love the film so many one liners in it.
Also a couple of weeks ago listened to a episode of the We have ways podcast talking about war movies. Apparently in Where Eagles Dare he would not were a hat very often as it affected his hair, and he did not learn his lines so Richard Burton used to fill in.

Clint Eastwood never really made any bad movies. Bridges of Madison County wasn't my cup of tea, but his film to oscar ratio is superb. I think he has 5 as best director, plus a whole host of others awarded for the movies he has made.

His best movie is Gran Torino, for my money, closely followed by Unforgiven, then Pale Rider, and a worthy mention for Million Dollar baby

Kelly’s hero’s, Two mules for sister Sarah, all the ’Dirty‘ Harry Callaghan films and his Spaghetti sh1t kickers.
When visiting Fat Sam’s Disco a few years ago, we did our own Dirty Harry trail, it was great fun.
And who can forget his role in Play Misty for me, a great psycho thriller!

All these great films but his two most commercially successful films not mentioned.
The 'Every Which Way....' movies, with the classic line: "Right turn Clyde"
