That’s an interesting case as Judge Gregory Perrins directed jurors that even if they thought the protesters were “morally justified”, it did not provide them with a lawful excuse to commit criminal damage.
But the jury of seven women and five men took seven hours and four minutes to acquit them of both charges. Some of the defendants waved at jurors, several of whom were visibly emotional, as they left court.
Before reaching their verdicts, the jury had asked to see a copy of the oath they took when they were sworn in.
Thanking jurors for their “care and attention”, the judge said: “This has been an unusual case.”
playing devils advocate if you were a protest group you could see this as a green light to damage property if you felt it was justified against a company or individual that is in your line of fire. ( not that it would be ). Interesting especially with the incident at HSBC by XR yesterday to see where this goes.

Everybody on here has witnessed and / or experienced the senseless drunken violence in City Centres and pubs up and down the country
The majority of people causing violence and criminal damage are aged 18 - 25 and predominately male.
This is OK because the drug is legal and people become intoxicated - become violent and disinhibited.
EVERY WEEKEND!
Yet we are accustomed to accept this.
Where is the moral outrage from some on here?
Where is the concern for Police Officers being assaulted, abused and threatened?
Where are the pious comments about the cost of violence and criminal damage?
You wont find anything about it in the local paper or national media - but the broken window of a multi-billion pound bank and there`s faux outrage!
