Yes, I agree regarding the position, but I was surprised by the size of the swing. Absolutely true what you say about the trend though, when you look at Redcar and Hartlepool (MPs).Pointless position, but I think it was always going to swing to the Tories given the trend on Teesside.
Far from it, but he’s part of the ex UKIP gang that are very much part of the local Conservative movement, his basic policy was based on that all the failings of Cleveland Constabulary were down to Barrie Coppinger, that Police numbers were irrelevant and that crime should be reported to him rather than the police...to be fair some of his ideas on using drones and further technology were decent but he managed to bring Brexit into the debate and was very keen to attach himself to Ben Houchen’s positive publicity. Labour really shot themselves in the foot, the Liberal Candidate was reasonable but I think abolishing the post you’re running for is counter intuitive to the public and the Independent Candidate who was probably the most suited to the role didn’t have the backing to launch an effective campaign.Massive swing to the Conservatives in Cleveland. I'm surprised by how much. Was he an exceptional candidate?
Are you a party member/activist?Another victory for the Teesside Blues
Just waiting for Big Ben's result now
I'm affiliated to no political parties - in fact I've actually voted for Lib Dems and Labour in the pastAre you a party member/activist?

So you dislike Clegg for giving in to the tory party over tuition fees, yet you're celebrating the same tories winning a bi-election. How does that work?Nick Clegg and his Tuition fee pledge of 2010 ... never again

I think this mushroom bloke has a style of posting that will quite probably lead to him being, say, court out at some point soon.OK. Just wondered why you were openly rooting for the Conservative Party there and addressing the mayor by his first name ...
