Slaven only managed a fraction of the 20k crowd that Blackmore managed.

We go on about players being loyal, but we were not very loyal to Slaven.

Perhaps if pulled off a bigger team like Celtic.

I think what miffed bernie the most was we played Hereford in the cup a couple of days later which was watched by a much bigger crowd (17,136)

I seem to remember us all singing "Sign Him Up!" when Fuchs was walking off the pitch. He looked pretty deflated and must've known it wasn't happening.
He knew for sure because it had already been made public knowledge - hence a couple of banners around the ground reading: 'DANKE EWE', 'AUF WEIDERSEHEN EWE' etc.
