It kind of does, and kind of did for a while. Top Gear was by a long long way the most profitable show for BBC worlwide. It gave Clarkson more editorial leniency than most

Just for clarity: I'm not defending the joke. I knwo the other side of social medial ying is to just extract what you want in order to attack the other person. However if anyone reads the thred they'll know I'm not defending jokes about abusing women. I can see why, in this social media world, and with me being some sort of "bad guy" to you, you would want to lie like this.
 
I listen to a podcast where the Grand Tour Script Editor is one of the presenters.

From what he was saying, it didn't sound like there were going to be any more series of that anyway; more just doing the specials like the last couple they've done so there isn't really anything in Grand Tour terms that would be cancelled. I'm sure if they decided to produce a couple more shows they'd be picked up by a broadcaster; money talks and they make money.

I think you need to go back over and read some of your posts. You are trying to defend a man and say he should be allowed to remain on TV after he's joked about physically and verbally abusing a woman. I would have been sacked immediately for this and many others have.

And please don't make this about you and me, it certainly isn't that way.

It probably doesn't need saying but none of this is going to stop Clarkson earning money.

He could start a YouTube channel tomorrow and have a million subscribers by the end of the week.

That was probably so but the point is he deserved his sacking when he assaulted an employee and as such, top draw show or not, it was right he went.

You do know there is no such thing? Clarkson just ran out of road, like Jim Davidson et al he's had his time. He hasn't even been "cancelled".

I suspect if he decided to make some serious documentaries like his admirable work on the raid on St. Nazaire that would be marketable?

I believe the phrase comes from where women keep their fancy knickers. In the top drawer.

However I think, though google tells me otherwise, that the phrase one trick pony is nonsense and it should be one trap pony coming from the US racing world meaning a horse can only win from certain stalls, called traps in US racing.

He wasn't actually sacked too. He didn't have his cpontract renewed. There is a difference there. Massive difference from a HR point of view.

That's such a massive lie it's hilarious. I get so so many people twisting things i've said just because they want to have apop at me. I'm used to it now from people like Norman. Some people jsut want petty personal squabbles

I love this resposne when you guys troll me! You LITERALLY made post about me rather than the subject. Then pretend to be upset when I respond! it's hilarious. I used to get it on another forum. People woud go out of their way to start arguemnets with me and, when I responded they'd be all mock outrage "Oh Smalltown is alwyas arguing" It's really odd behaviour.

Luckily this board is a bit more grown up and there are fewer people like you who want to get in petty personal digs and make everything about that.
