The GWOAT vs The Silent Assassin

It will be a historic occasion as Shields-Marshall will headline the first televised all-women's professional boxing card in Britain.

This Saturday 7.30pm Savannah Marshall, the local lass from Hartlepool is seen somewhat as the underdog.. she fought Sheids in the amateurs and beat her.. dells like a storyline from Rocky albeit one of the later ones.

I wasn’t that interested tbh.. but a few interviews have sparked my interest.

I’ll be there cheering her on I think Marshall wins easy, the fight before should also be quite interesting.

I’ve really enjoyed the interviews. Marshall cuts though all the bull and shows the hobby yank up.. just matter of fact. Brutal!!
 
Come on Savannah. Local girl doing well and I hope she does it. Shields is clearly an amazing fighter with an incredible back story, but I still hope Marshall knocks her out.
 
I, m really looking forward to this fight , can see Marshall going behind on points , but the ref stopping the fight in the later rounds with the gobby yank out on her feet , the chief support should also be good , plenty of needle between them both .

I know you're well into your boxing FatCat but I'd be interested as to why you think Marshall wins easily? Shields has class and is rightly considered one of the very best though I think her emotions around the defeat in the amateurs are really getting to her.

It'll be a great fight that's for sure.

I am well into it WeeGord but it doesn’t mean I know anything about it ;-) I’m just hoping she does win and particularly because she’s kind of local. I note that Shields is seen as favorite by many in the game - who know what they are talking about.

Let’s see - this fight and the one before (Baumgardner and Meyer)could be very exciting!

I'm looking forward to the fight and it goes without saying I hope Marshall wins. It was an interesting episode of The Gloves Are Off and I thought that despite talking the talk and wanting to appear supremely confident that Shields is feeling the pressure, primarily from herself. That loss irks her and I think that despite her class she's too emotionally invested in it and that could be her undoing.

Let's hope its a great fight and Marshall has her hand raised at the end.
 
My main worry is, I'm abroad, and its our last night. I want to get back to the villa in time to see the fight, my brother in law also wants to watch, so if we set the drinks up, we should get the girls back in time for the fight. Marshall to win all day long for me.
 
Shields doesn’t carry the power to knock Marshall out but it goes the distance Shields will likely win, Marshall will need to knock her out.
