Civil Enforcement Parking Notice Charge

I've never parked there before but as the parking at IB leisure is so poor I thought I could always dodge in there if I needed to, and judging by all the people walking from that direction I thought people used it at will. Obviously not, is there clear signage?

Ive never noticed it - hence receiving my love letter!

Not sure where the sign is I am going to check it out later I think.

Google Maps says not, I wonder if they've clamped down recently and its new. You can use the school parking on a weekend at IB leisure but they've pulled a couple of spots to create a barrier entry which has caused a bit of chaos which is perhaps why people are using that car park. My cousin parked there on Friday when we had the kids at the soft play so unfortunately imagine she will be due to receive a fine.

Was very much the topic of widespread debate on IB Facebook group when introduced. They have already issued lots of fines, some unjustly initially but the company involved are one of the really nasty ones if you look them up on line. I think the shops used a sledgehammer to crack a nut here, particularly as the biggest unit - the vets is closed now. I won’t be using any shops or businesses on that parade anymore due to the risk and what I think is pretty punitive action by the shop / business owners. The car park was pretty empty on Saturday morning!

There was a big bit of tarpaulin saying NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS (or something similar) on the railings as you go in, but when I was there on Friday, it had come away on one side and collapsed on itself :ROFLMAO: The actual signage in the car park is small, and if you've been using that car park for years, you wouldn't be looking around to notice it. I was only made aware of what the restrictions were when I nipped in a shop and they had a small print out on their front desk - had to scan a QR code and put your reg in.

As I said I rarely have used it so its completely my own fault for not properly scanning around, or noticing any signs.

I'm in that car park quite regularly and fairly certain there were no prior warnings of it happening, it was just brought in one day. I'm thinking loads will have been caught out. These companies are shockers.

In this day and age I'd honestly expect any shop parking to have these sort of systems

Generally because people don't want to pay for parking elsewhere, or walk, so they park somewhere else.

As mentioned above many people said this wasn't clear at the time despite be big banner telling you on entry, the realistic part is you don't look for banners about parking like that. There's signs up but human nature just has us parking and going about our day

The one in Stockton is really bad, by Halfords. It's a different company that owns the one outside Halfords and Matalan, compared to the one outside B&m.

So you can get done parking outside Halfords and walking to town, which many do, and you can get done parking outside matalan and popping into B&m.

That is true - when I went over today, intentionally looking there is a large sign, which says in bold letters "New Parking Restrictions in Place" or something - drove past it obliviously or more than 1 occasion!

You just wouldn't be looking for it in reality, I'd presume it was one of Ted strikes fun day banners or something.

I only noticed the sign today at the entrance to the carpark. I don't know how long it has been there, I'm sure one of the retailers can let you know when it went up.

Im in the fight your private parking invoice group on facebook there's some right to put it politely not very intelligent people who post on their parking on double red lines, loading bays, areas marked with chevrons, disabled bays with no blue badge on display

If your bang to rights its usually £100 reduced to 60, then £100, then jumps to £170, then you get a claim before proceedings letter, then eventually a court letter which if not defended gets you a ccj and the parking company an easy win with the option to pay an even higher charge to stop the ccj

I know where the car park is but I've never used it. Is there a charge for parking there beyond 30 minutes? The only time I've disputed one of these was after I mistyped my reg into the ticket machine. I'd paid for parking though and there are a number of cases that have been thrown out due to £100 being an excessive fine for a typo and there is no loss of income as parking was paid for.
In cases where there are no charges only time limits how do the parking companies claim loss of income?

Tesco own the car park apparently.

you can be longer than 30 minutes but you have to register your reg via a QR code that is available in the businesses there. if you are under 30 minutes then there is no charge
