It's that time of year where loads of fans become like suspicious jealous partners, reading too much into the most bland of social media posts.Knowing Chuba as well as I do...(I dont know him at all), there is no way he would post anything that would explicitly suggest he's leaving with no official word primarily from the club. I think you're reading too much into this Sãu.
Totally agree, but can we expect him to score 29, or more, next season? I think he'll get 20+, but it will be a tough act, as teams have sussed how pivotal he is to us. We saw that in the last 6 or 7 games.Hope he stays, hope we can persuade him to sign a contract extension with an agreement if we don't go up, thanks, handshake he can leave.
But his risk, he doesn't score as many, we struggle, we won't get as much for him ......and that will reduce his wages/signing on fee etc.
He's crucial for how we play. Losing him and Archer will be a huge blow......and replacing them
I don't think he will, he will find it increasingly difficult now everyone is aware of him and how he plays. He is going to have to find an extra gear to make the same impact as he did this season.Totally agree, but can we expect him to score 29, or more, next season? Sides have really started to clatter through the back of him from the first minute as it is clear that once he gets turned then they are in all kinds of trouble.Totally agree, but can we expect him to score 29, or more, next season? IF he stays I'd be happy if he scored 15-20 and the goals shared out amongst the team. The Coventry games showed, defend deep, keep him and Archer quiet and we were toothless.Totally agree, but can we expect him to score 29, or more, next season? Definitely. A lot of refs in the championship are poor for letting sides get away with those sorts of tactics.Sides have really started to clatter through the back of him from the first minute as it is clear that once he gets turned then they are in all kinds of trouble.
What we need, and maybe Carrick needs to call it out and put pressure on the refs, is for some protection and getting the cards out earlier than the 5th or 6th challenge from behind on Chuba.
The challenge is to get more goal threats throughout the side, to ensure that if they double up on him it doesn’t contain us as a team.Totally agree, but can we expect him to score 29, or more, next season? For all our goals last season, our CM options of Hackney, Howson, Barlaser and Mowatt scored 2 goals between them. Out first choice full backs of Giles and Smith failed to score. Our CBs of Fry, McNair, and Lenihan scored 1 goal in 92 starts between them. WE need to have more goal threat throughout the team. A CB that scores from corners, a FB that comes in around the back post, a CM who with a thunderbastard of a shot. That makes it much more difficult to mark Akpom out of the game and keep us quiet.
Think the main problem with Fletcher and Britt is that no one wanted them! Certainly not on anywhere near the wages we were daft enough to give them.Always felt hes not staying. Would have signed by now. Days of letting big signings leave for nothing like fletcher and britt are gone.

Defintiely. For all the goals we scored, we should have had at least 20 more from the other positions you mentioned. I'm sure that is something Carrick will be trying to address. The challenge is to get more goal threats throughout the side, to ensure that if they double up on him it doesn’t contain us as a team.

If I was him (as a non-boro fan) with his career so far, his age and a young family, I'd be looking at trying to get a three or four year deal at least doubling my money from a lower Prem club.If I was Chuba I wouldn't be signing a new deal until the club brought in a few quality signings for a definite promotion push. Prove to him that we mean business
