Chuba.

A few facts about Chuba this season:

- 25 league goals now, makes him level with Big John Hicktons best season of 1970/71

- The last person to score more than 25 league goals in a season for Boro was O'rourke in 66/67.

- Two more league goals to go and it's the best since 62/63,

- Six more to be the best since Cloughy.

- Only 9 people have had a better season in league goalscoring terms for Boro
2 more goals and he matches rudy gustedes lifetime tally for his whole career

As said, he is in a strong negotiating position and we wont be willing to let him walk for nowt in June 2024. We may have no choice but to sell if we can’t or wont meet his demands. I guess promotion would bring the 2 parties closer together.

The nightmare scenario is we remain in the championship and can’t agree a contract, selling then becomes a necessity to extract money for re-building. With only one year on his contract, I can’t see us getting much more than £12M tbh, even though he is worth far more were he to have a longer contract and as said he has only had 1 good season to date. I use the term nightmare scenario as we will need to replace Archer and Ramsey too (LB and keeper also) as I expect they will either be sold or on loan to PL teams next season and our rebuilding back to worse than square 1

Promotion this year would be huge as teams like Stoke, Sunderland, Preston are generally on the up along with the usual suspects in and around the play-offs currently and some decent squads may yet be relegated who will re-invest hoping to do a Burnley. Next year will be tougher methinks, I hope Scott, Carrick and Gibbo have all bases covered.

Are you smashed?

2014/15 - 22 goals in 44 games
2013/14 - 14 goals in 33 games (one of these goals were for Cardiff in the EFL cup before signing for Blackburn on loan and then permanently later on in that season)

Worth noting that despite our crap result at the weekend we have closed the gap on Burnley for the top goalscorers in the championship. Burnley have 74 goals we have 71. 4-0 to Boro on Friday and we top the charts :ROFLMAO:. To put it into context Sheff Utd are third top scorers on 59 goals, 12 less than us!
Wow, pretty astonishing how quickly we have caught up to them.

I wouldn't worry about Luton as they'll either finish in 3rd or 4th and we'll occupy one of those positions also.
As for millwall, don't think a lot of them to be honest.
Wembley against anybody is what scares me.
Luton at Wembley I think we would do them. Big pitch works well for teams that pass. We would wear them down.

Over two legs they'd bully us at their place, and we'd pass them off the park at ours. Would be tight over two legs.

Millwall, don't worry me, average team that don't do well against good sides and are terrible away at good sides.

Blackburn would be tough over two legs or a final. I'd prefer not to play them as we don't match up great with them.

Norwich are another that maybe we would find tight in the big games if they sneak into play offs.

We've got to keep our form up and see how we fare. Important to be confident away from home. If we lose the next couple away from home, it could be a problem in the play-offs (assuming we get there).

I’m sure we ‘tightened’ our pitch when Carrick took over. If you look at the West stand touch line it looks like the pitch has been narrowed by a meter or 2.
I don't think so because I thought there was a rule where you had to have the same pitch size for the whole season. I might be completely wrong but if it was possible to change then teams would be adjusting it every week depending on the opposition.
