Appalling miss.. you can’t defend him there. He’s more or less on the line and rather than put his foot through it he goes to stroke it in. Yes a great recovery from the keeper but a striker shouldn’t be giving him the opportunity to recover. Imagine if Connelly had missed it last season .. he’d have been ran out of town!

That's the thing though, Connelly would have missed it. Doubt he'd have connected with the ball even.

I’ve consistently said Akpom isn’t good enough, since before we ever signed him.

It’s a good save because he allowed him to. Chuba didn’t seem to have any anticipation that the ball would drop at all. I think he could’ve been a fraction of a second quicker on to it and smash it.

He had at least five foot of goal to aim for. He tamely sidefoots it towards the one place the goalkeeper can get to. He’s an absolutely horrific striker.
